The Taycan is available with either a Performance Battery (79.2 kWh battery) offering 431 km of range or a Performance Battery Plus (93.4 kWh battery) that offers a maximum range of 484 km (WLTP cycle). The car comes with a single electric motor that drives the rear axle and has a 2-speed transmission.

In terms of styling, the base Taycan looks similar to the other variants. It rides on 19-inch Taycan Aero wheels and is equipped with LED headlights. The car gets a black front apron, side sills and rear diffuser. Its brake calipers are also finished in black.

Re: Porsche Taycan gets a new entry-level variant

This is the most important product of Porsche this decade (yes, even considering the GT3) this is likely to cost around 80 grand, which puts it squarely with the model S. The Taycan is already the best selling model of Porsche and this model will likely double Porsche's sales not only in the EV range but the company as a whole.

Re: Porsche Taycan gets a new entry-level variant

If mainstream manufacturers are looking at how to make an EV, this is how you do it. Merc and BMW better take notes from Porsche. You have to match the performance and range of Tesla while taking advantage of your core strengths of cabin quality and suspension tuning. An extra innovation or two always helps, the two speed transmission for instance.

VW group has evidently learnt its lessions from Dieselgate. It’s future in the EV world seems secure. This car is far more relevant and desirable than other German EVs like EQC and i3.

Totally agree, Porsche always manages to get the ride and handling balance and the design spot on. BMW should learn from them how to make an EV look elegant yet eye catching and not a screaming Chinese commuter look alike!

The paint on this Taycan is just .
