Ferrari Testa Rossa J is a 75% scale replica of a 1950s race car with an electric powertrain

Ferrari has partnered with The Little Car Company - a Bicester-based company, to recreate one of its most iconic race cars from the 1950s. The new Ferrari Testa Rossa J, as the name suggests, is a recreation of the Italian brand's 1957 250 Testa Rossa - the only Ferrari to win the 24-hours of Le Mans 4 times (1958, 1960, 1961 and 1962).

Ferrari calls the Testa Rossa J the 'Junior car', as the recreation is a 75% scale replica of the original race car and comes with an electric powertrain. The car measures 3100 mm in length, 700 mm in width and 1100 mm in height.

The Ferrari Testa Rossa J, although a scaled recreation, has its chassis and mechanical components made using the original drawings held at Ferrari's Classiche Department. The Testa Rossa J borrows its pedals from the F8 Tributo, while also sporting 12-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli tyres, Bilstein coil-over dampers and Brembo disc brakes with regenerative braking.

On the inside, the Testa Rossa J model features leather upholstery, a steering wheel made by Nardi - the same company which supplied the part on the original model. The classic dials have been repurposed to represent the battery and motor temperatures, along with a display for the battery charge.

Further to this, the Ferrari Testa Rossa J comes with bodywork made from hand-beaten aluminium, the same process used to build the original. The 'Junior Car' also uses the same paint used on present-day Ferrari road cars.

Powering the Ferrari Testa Rossa J are three electric motors, positioned at the front. The scale replica also features Ferrari's 'Manettino' dial to shift between four driving modes - Novice, Comfort, Sport and Race. The Testa Rossa J claims to offer a top speed of 60 km/h and has a maximum range of 55 miles (89 km) on a single charge.

The Ferrari Testa Rossa J can also be configured online, with a choice of 14 historical liveries, 53 colour options and other additional personalised racing liveries. The scale replica is limited to 299 units and is offered with a price tag of €93,000.

It's probably being called as 75% replica for that reason.

It's a Ferrari without an engine.

It can't even be called a 10% replica without the engine as racing Ferrari's or for that matter even road going Ferrari's are all about the engine. Plus the range and speed the electric motor is capable of is hilarious.

Guess, brands like Ferrari are testing waters to see how much recognition will the brand still hold with just a electric motor
