Kia EV6 brochure leaked; features & specs

Mod Note: Our Kia EV6 Report has been taken live at this link. Please continue the discussion over on the new thread. Thanks!

Kia is gearing up to launch the EV6 all-electric crossover in India later this year. Here is the leaked official brochure that sheds more light on the India-spec EV6.

In India, the EV6 is likely to be offered with a single 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a maximum range of 528 km (WLTP cycle). The battery supports ultra-fast charging which adds 100 km of range in just 4.5 minutes. It can be recharged from 10%-80% in 18 minutes using a 350 kW fast charger, while a 50 kW fast charger takes 73 minutes.

The Kia EV6 could be offered in both single motor and dual-motor variants. The single motor RWD variant packs 225 BHP and 350 Nm, while the AWD version offers 321 BHP and 605 Nm. Kia claims the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.

In terms of features, the top-spec GT-Line AWD variant comes with an Augmented Reality heads-up display, powered tailgate, automatic flush-fitting door handles and a Meridian sound system with 14 speakers. The car also gets dual 12.3-inch screens, 10-way power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, paddle shifters for regeneration, multi-drive modes, rain-sensing wipers and a wireless smartphone charger.

The EV6 comes equipped with 8 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes with ABS and Brake Assist, ESC, Hill-start Assist Control, Multi Collision Brake Assist, VSM as well as ADAS, which includes Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Lane Follow Assist, Blind-spot Detection with Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear-cross Traffic Alert, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go functionality.

Thanks for sharing.
Good to see Kia launching both RWD and AWD variants with their largest battery pack.
This won't be cheap. Expect a price of >50L

Re: Kia EV6 brochure leaked; features & specs

The KIA EV6 GT-line RWD's MSRP in USA is 51,200 USD and the AWD's MSRP is 55,900 USD. For reference, Audi E-tron's MSRP is 65,900 USD and ex-showroom price in India is ₹1.01Cr. Forget <50 lakhs, I wouldn't be surprised if the EV6 costs >₹70 lakhs ex-showroom.

It is weird to see that the RWD version gets only 4 speakers and 2 tweeters, but gets 'Relaxation Seats' on both front seats .

The claimed 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds is for the GT version which has a total power output 585ps. Whereas, the GT-line which we are getting has a total power output of 325ps and does 0-100 km/h in around 5.2 seconds.

Kia is really building & bolstering its brand on the back of excellent products. After the Seltos, the Sonet, Carnival & Carens have all really impressed me. And here comes an electric car that looks like a muscle car, does 0 - 100 in an astonishing 3.5 seconds and might offer a 375 - 400 km range. Wow!

Jaggu & Khan_Sultan are driving the EV6 this coming weekend @ Buddh.

Wow! Blown away by the specs.. 3.5 seconds to 100 ! That is super car category. Forget Tesla, if kia can offer such cars in India, the electric future looks bright. This will have near super car pricing I guess, but really bold step from Kia. Kudos.

3.5 sec for 0-100 seconds is a dream come true. This is going to be the most expensive Kia in India. This will sell against X3 and X5s. If priced well, this will change the game for EVs in India.

That 0-100 of 3.5 seconds is only for the GT variant which has 570BHP. The one which is given in spec sheet is the 325BHP version. The 0-100 for that 5.2s which is still pretty awesome.

26th May they open booking for only 100 cars. A birdie tells me that the price is in north of 55 Lacs.

I was fortunate to test drive this car last weekend here in Seattle which I did on spur of the moment. It was a great experience and loved the way this drove over the Polestar 2.

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/elect...ml#post5317218 (Kia launches EV faster than Porsche’s Taycan 4S)

Excellent power, decent handling and great technology makes this a compelling buy.

Only downside is the price. Due to super limited availability, dealers are quoting over MSRP and I got a quote for $67,000 (Original MSRP is $59K for top of line build) for GT Line which puts it in equal to a Tesla Model Y Performance.

If I compare them both at that price point. It would be a no brainer to choose the Y over EV6 GT Line.

Btw, Redliner who does really good reviews was able to squeeze 4.4 seconds for a 0-60mph which is pretty impressive for such a large and heavy vehicle.

Re: Kia EV6 brochure leaked; features & specs

For the past few years the entire Hyundai family of brands (Hyundai, KIA and Genesis) has been moving seriously up market internationally.

Hyundai were successful from the star, the first Santro gave you more space than the Zen the legendary Santro Xinq is the only car to ever be a serious threat to WagonR sales. The Creta created the now immensely popular 10-20 Lakh segment and built a 20 lakh car that would out number some maruti cars in terms of sales.

KIA has absolutely smashed it out of the park with the Seltos and Sonet brothers, they're giving good competition to the Innova and Fortuner with the Carnival.

Hyundai and KIA cars in the US were viewed as "boring cars" in the past.

KIA has improved their standing with the Stinger sedan (more specifically the Stinger GT and it's 3.3L Twin Turbo V6 pumping 365hp and 510nm, that's BMW M340i numbers in a KIA!) and a line-up of good SUV's (Telluride, Sportage, Sorento), the Carnival MPV and now the EV6.

Hyundai took the VW approach by sprucing up their normal cars with powerful engines, the Elantra N, Kona N and Velostar N all come with 275hp/350nm 2.0L Turbo petrol engines that offer comparable/more performance than their VW competition. They also have similar SUV and MPV offerings to KIA. The handsome IONIQ 5 is basically Hyundai announcing to all the other brands they're ready for the future.

Genesis (their luxury brand going up against the likes of Acura, Infiniti, Lexus and the German big 3) split from Hyundai to become a standalone brand in 2015 is the real surprise. In 2014 if you told someone in America looking a BMW or Audi to look at a Hyundai or KIA they would've laughed in your face but not anymore. It's come to the point where the Genesis GV70 3.5 TT V6 is beating a BMW X3 M40i in comparison tests.

If we see the brochure 3 posts back before what GTO posted, the motors included are 228ps and 335ps and not the international version GT line which does the 3.5second 0-100. That version does a 13 second 0-200 and 26 second 0-250 which are tesla rivalling times.
However, from what is going to be launched here, the bigger battery 335ps version does a 5.3 second 0-100 and 193kmph top speed.

Typical over-advertising by Kia. But these motors are still more than adequate and its going to be a great car no doubt.

Re: Kia EV6 brochure leaked; features & specs

The pricing will be a challenge for Kia here. With the taxes, import duty etc. there is no way Kia is going to price it below 60 lakhs OTR. Irrespective of the performance and the tech on offer, in India not many will put that money on a Kia. Most of the buyers in that segment will go for Germans for the brand value. Many have dreams of finally reaching there and owning a BMW, Mercedes etc.

So this might mostly stay with customers who have other expensive cars in their garage and buy it for the uniqueness or for the performance.

But it will help Kia to boost their brand image and inturn increase the sale of cars in the lower price bracket.

Can we get some videos out of their drive this weekend?

Also, when will the review be posted - I ask because they have a very small window on the 26th May for bookings

It was rated the European Car of the Year. Also the Best new EV in the US. I don’t get why you would judge the car before ever looking into it.

EVs are inherently expensive vehicles. And I don’t see the point of making EVs in India when our EV market is so minuscule. Even if Kia manages to manufacture locally, it will still cost upwards of 40L which is anyway not affordable for most.
