Nissan Ariya EV to attempt world's first all-electric North to South pole drive in 2023

Nissan has announced that it will be attempting the world's first all-electric driving adventure from the magnetic North Pole to the South Pole. The company has partnered with British adventurer Chris Ramsey for the massive expedition, which is scheduled to begin in March 2023.

Chris Ramsey and his team will undertake the 27,000 km expedition with a Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE. The expedition will see Ramsey make his way through the Arctic, passing through North, Central and South America before crossing over to Antarctica. It will also make Ramsey the first person to drive from Pole to Pole in any kind of vehicle, experiencing varied temperatures, landscapes and other unchartered territories.

The Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE driven by Ramsey will be modified with a rugged exterior, along with upgraded wheels, tyres and suspension capable of handling the extreme terrains. Nissan will also send in an unmodified Ariya e-4ORCE, which will act as a support vehicle while passing through the Americas.

They come with heating elements to keep the battery temperature at operating temperatures.

But there will be a hit in the range as the same battery has to provide energy to heat it itself

Ohh, thanks for the explanation. I hope they charge the batteries by renewable resources if possible.
