@BimmerSage/@drstrange, Did any of you notice or heard about the All New E6 claim from the dealer or on the byd auto india website? Thought it was 3rd Generation all along.
There is no 3rd generation E6 anywhere in the world, the 2nd generation itself was launched only in 2021.

Re: BYD E6 Electric MPV | Ownership Review

Thanks for the very well written article, dude. I am able to bring down the range to 370km i.e., 19kw consumption per 100km. this happened when I was driving early morning at 4 to airport, at the external temperature was probably 20 degrees. I am not sure if the battery management system was activated (cooling and heating system) but I was using HI temperature on my AC. Apparently heating costs a lot of energy, I found few Chinese videos on YouTube where cab drivers complained about BYD e6 version 1 range drop in winters (China winters are very cold below 8c) due to battery heating system and in car AC heating, it was around 290 km to 340 km. I don't think we have an efficient way of generating heat with electricity.

Are you in BYD WhatsApp group of Andhra Pradesh?

thanks

TESLA and AUDI are Gen 3 cars which are developed ground up and are made on skate board platform. Even KIA EV6 too is Gen 3 platform.

Re: BYD E6 Electric MPV | Ownership Review

Had a chance to see the Atto 3 inside the BYD airconditioned showroom. The airconditioning of the car inside the AC showroom with all doors closed was substandard. I sat inside the car with the doors and windows closed for 10 minutes with the car AC on.

Do the current owners, from their personal experience/ WhatsApp group know the current waiting list of the BYD e6? Any inputs will be appreciated.

Re: BYD E6 Electric MPV | Ownership Review

Did a test drive of the e6 along with my better half. Impressions

- First thing we realized that this was a great Ertiga replacement- only if you can live without the 3rd row.
- Ergonomically well-sorted
- The materials used are not premium relative to the price (and relative to similar priced ICE vehicles) but something I can live with
- Did not realize the car is "started/on". Pressed the start button again, only to switch if off :-)
- The ride is well sorted. We drove it over a very bad, under-construction road for 4-5 Km. E6 redeemed itself well.
- Just when we were about to start fawning over its ride, we hit a stretch with multiple "high" speed breakers. Thats where the E6 bottomed out. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME . The accompanying PPS BYD guy got a stare from both of us and just mumbled "Sir, its an MUV but please drive it like a low sedan".....
- We were driving on a hot sunny day at approx. 11 am. The AC was just about effective when I set it at our normal 22 degrees. It never really reached that temparature soon enough and we had to pull it down to 16 degrees to cool the cabin faster. For comparison, in our Fortuner, the cabin cools down in a couple of minutes at that setting.

Most "functional" bit was this. When asked if there is a provision for longer extended warranty periods, he said its something BYD is actively considering based on customer feedback in the personal segment who prefer a longer period than 8 yrs rather than distance covered (500k Km !!). Hope this comes out soon. BYD has apparently realized
that the biggest scare over EVs is that the car will have negligible resale value once the warranty period ends. This is causing early adopters to go for cheaper cars like Tiago ev than cars in the 30L+ range.

Re: BYD E6 Electric MPV | Ownership Review

I found another BYD e6 Ownership review below ->

The Owner said at the end -

• 5 Lakh KM battery warranty was important factor for him
• He had seen BYD buses in Pune
• He believes BYD has mastered the electric motor, as they have been in this business of making EV's cars and buses for a long time, vs the competitors. (Tata, MG etc.)
• They have overtaken Tesla as World’s largest EV manufacturer (even though plug in electric hybrids PHEVs is counted in that statistic, might overtake Tesla in pure EV’s as well in 2023)
• Space and range (above 450 KM) no other EV currently gives that except BYD e6.

Re: BYD E6 Electric MPV | Ownership Review

Met a person, a senior executive in financial services, this evening who owns a BYD 6. I had a delho at his car as it came up to the porch from where we were both exiting. He said his car gives him a real life city range of 500 kms. It sounded high to me. Could this be accurate. The car looked very neat to me with lots of dicky space and back seat leg room.

No 500 is not correct . After 100 % charging the car shows 500 kms but in real world the best we can extract is 480-486 and the worse is 380 .

Re: BYD E6 Electric MPV | Ownership Review

And now the Aha NexCruise guys come up with cruise control for BYD E6.
Interestingly, the existing dial can itself be used for cruise control, so might not even need the additional dial.

Let's see what the BYD guys have to say about it, especially the warranty...

Bought e6 last June
Thinking of selling it and getting Atto 3 as soon as I get food price for the e6
I loved the car and the space just find Atto a bit more exciting.

Yes its a personal preference you can opt for atto 3 is more advanced comes with cell to body technology . Only catch is lower range if your okay with that you definitely have an ace in the hand .
