Greetings,
I Was wondering what Ev charging apps does everyone here use to locate chargers and see if they are online?
Regards
Nikunj
PlugShare !! On top of all the basic trip planning info, has reviews of all those who have charged in the past which helps us stay updated if the charging system is working or broken.
Not sure if any other apps provide this granular info.
Cheers,
Vijay
I had asked the same question elsewhere in Team-Bhp, but welcome this thread as it can track all new apps coming in.
Main apps are:
Zeon Charging (Most of their chargers are 22/30/50 kw )
Statiq
Chargemod
PlugShare
GoEc ( Mainly in Kerala)
Tata Power EZ charge
There is no one app wherein we can use all these chargers. Hopefully very soon inter compatibility and common apps will happen.
I am trying to create an excel of unknown or not much visible charging places, so that we can make use of those.
I use Plugshare to get a sense of available charging infrastructure. Depending on the requirement and the places I drive to, I install or uninstall EV apps.
Pretty much memorized all the fast chargers across Karnataka.
So far I have used fast chargers of Tata power, Statiq, Relux, Zeon, JioBP and Chargezone.
A single app which can be used across all chargers is most welcome, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
Thanks everyone,
I start my Ev journey in a couple of days.
And This is my first new car .
So I shall keep everyone posted on my learnings.
I have used Tata power, bescom (ev Mitra),, chargengo and shell recharge so far.
Soon will be using jio BP and zeon.
I use plug share to check out the chargers and pay for them on their own apps
Here is what I have on my phone as of now
Plugshare is the best to find chargers around or plan a trip.
Post that each charger today has apps and wallets to be used once you reach the charger.
I hope this is standardized to something like FasTag was standardized for toll payments.

Check out Ionage. (
www.ionage.in/)
This is a friend’s start up and meant to integrate all charging providers in one app. They’re still adding new chargers, but I believe most of the major providers are covered now.
Has any one found plugshare to not be reliable any more?
Or is no one updating plugshare ?

Woah, that’s great
Just one gripe, that some chargers are wrongly placed on the map, especially the ones belonging to non-Ionage partners like Tata PEZC, JioBP etc.

In my experience it has been quite reliable regarding the locations and check ins done by people.
However, I am noticing that people are treating it like social media to some extent now, with people uploading their selfies at the charger photos.
That apart, most chargers are in fact pinned correctly, and people do update whether or not the charger is operational and even the contact of those in charge (pun intended) at the location.
Plugshare for information on chargers and EVARC for route planning, done some planning for my Tiago EV LR and results are very good
Plugshare has been the Go-To for planning the trip.
I have now been testing the google maps "Electric vehicle charging" functionality in parallel but plugshare is better.
Rest all apps are charger specific:
Jio BP
Zeon Charging
Relux
Statiq
Tata Power EZ charge
Shell recharge
Chargemod
GoEc

Plugshare, the app for locating electric vehicle charging stations, relies on user-generated updates rather than backend updates. As an EV user residing in Kerala, I actively contribute to Plugshare by ensuring that newly installed charging stations by providers such as GO EC, Zeon, ChargeMOD, or BPCL are accurately marked on the app.
I diligently verify the exact location and other pertinent details before adding them to the database.
Moreover, when I visit a charging station and successfully charge my vehicle or encounter issues preventing me from initiating charging, I promptly update the information through check-ins on Plugshare.
This valuable feature allows other users to access real-time feedback and make informed decisions when planning their own trips.
To ensure a seamless experience, I recommend checking and updating Plugshare as a responsible EV user. Once you locate a charging station along your intended route, it's advisable to check the respective charging provider's app to determine if the charger is currently online/ engaged / available for use.
By actively participating in Plugshare's user-driven ecosystem and cross-referencing information with charging providers' apps, we can collectively enhance the accuracy and reliability of charging station data, ultimately facilitating more convenient and efficient electric vehicle journeys.
Cheers!! :Cheering:
Hi, I am planning a road trip from Delhi to Ajmer in my MG Comet, yes you read it correctly. Need to know the locations of the AC chargers enroute. Plug Share is not that helpful. Any website where I could put my route wherein it shows the chargers shall be really helpful. Thanks in advance
