PMV electric to launch a small EV in India on 16th November

Mumbai-based electric vehicle maker PMV Electric is set to launch its first electric vehicle in the country. The company will unveil EaS-E on November 16. I did not see this "home grown" product being mentioned here, so sharing

Interestingly to me it looks a bit like upcoming MG Air !

I have a pretty good feeling that this will bomb, almost 5lakhs ex-showroom for a scooter with doors, I can see this being bought for niche purposes but no mainstream application.
It does look kinda cute though!

Why can't anyone develop a cute, even if slightly underpowered EV for city similar to a beetle or fiat500. Or even a slightly improved Nano.
EasE looks like a glorified decked up erickshaw.

Re: PMV electric to launch a small EV in India on 16th November

Not really sure if this would be off topic, but micro cars (most of them , be it concept or real time model) look like maini Reva. Even PMV Eas-E and the upcoming MG micro electric hatch, all look like the Reva.

I am certainly not sure for whom would this car cater to? Quadracycle is a very niche segment in India ( Bajaj's quadracycle was one such which was very barebones and did not hit off in market due to safety regulations). And I am not sure how did this electric quadcycle pass safety norms?

Re: PMV electric to launch a small EV in India on 16th November

It needs little bit more power (~8 hp), little bit more width (~200 mm), battery updated to match the same range numbers so that it becomes 4 seater CAR. In its current form I don't see it has any aspirational value or even utility value.

Should there be a 4 wheeled vehicle that does not allow 2 seats in one row?

If this gets 6000 bookings, TaMo should seriously consider bringing back the Nano in EV avatar soon.

Please help if I'm missing something here - 2 seater with 4 doors? Doesn't make any sense right there. Funny how the designer chose to let go of rigidity to satiate the need for additional doors.

Are quadricycles street legal in India at the first place?

As per this article (https://www.cardekho.com/india-car-n...ndia-29963.htm), they have already gathered around 6000 pre orders from India and some other markets.

I kind of find this thing cute. I pray that it succeeds! Should work for people who mostly commute alone or with spouse/kid, and have a primary car for other family outings and duties/trips.

I find this thing adorable! I’ve always wanted to see more such vehicles on our roads to reduce congestion, seems a similar footprint to the Renault Twizy which never launched here.
I would really like a T-BHP review on this : )

I think it may be a jet fighter design, the passenger will sit behind the driver.

Aha... So both can get in and out from both sides? Quite an unnecessary feature wouldn't you agree?

Or buy a pair of ola scooters build a frame tying both together and build a roof on top and then it will seat 4 and be cheaper too

Looking at the 7 inch aftermarket round led headlamps this PMV looks like a hobby effort at a slightly more professional level than what I mentioned above.
