Tata Motors has announced the launch of the Tigor EV with an extended range and added features. The electric car is available in four variants with prices starting at Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom).



The Tigor uses an electric motor with an output of 74 BHP and 170 Nm. It is powered by a 26 kWh battery pack that now offers a range of 315 km (ARAI certified).



The Tigor EV also gains a few new features, including rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, cruise control, leatherette upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Features like multi-mode regen, Zconnect, smartwatch connectivity, iTPMS and a tyre puncture kit are offered as standard across all variants.



Existing Tigor EV customers can get their vehicles upgraded with multi-mode regen, iTPMS and tyre puncture kit for free starting from December 20, 2022. XZ+ and XZ+ dual-tone owners can get a smartwatch connectivity upgrade as well.



The Tigor EV is now available in a new exterior colour called Magnetic Red.

• XE – Rs. 12.49 lakh
• XT – Rs. 12.99 lakh
• XZ+ - Rs. 13,49 lakh
• XZ+ Lux – Rs. 13.75 lakh

Such a wasted opportunity. They could have added the 130 bhp motor that is available in the Nexon.

Tata should have kept a 130 bhp top-end variant to go with this new larger capacity battery.

It still comes with a 26kwh battery, the slight increase in range could be related to some minor tweaking.

This is a good update. I hope that the Altroz EV is positioned between this and Tiago in terms of pricing.

I beg to differ as TIGOR EV is positioned as a pure city car for which a motor with 74 Bhp and 170 NM with a realistic range of 195 Kms is more than sufficient. It is now more value for money with added features, tech and luxury.

Tiago is positioned below the Tigor, while the Altroz EV will be positioned between the Tigor and the Nexon. The upcoming CURVV EV will be positioned above the Nexon EV and will rival with the ZS EV and the Kona.

So the Tiago LR XT is 9.99L, Tigor XT is 12.99L, a 3 lakh price difference. I did not compare the feature list, assuming both use same motors and battery packs(Tiago having larger buffer) with same range, the 3 lakh difference is for slightly larger boot and slightly uglier car(personal opinion no offense to owners).

Tiago looks beautiful and more VFM according to me, I understand prices are introductory.

Indeed a good update with lots of added features like cooled glove box, leatherette seats, app controlled a/c, cruise control, i-tpms, auto headlamps and wipers. With a real world range of 200 kms, makes absolute sense for people driving only 700-1000 kms a month. Plus the new color looks dashing.
