- The Creta EV is expected to see series production by the last quarter of 2024.

- The EV SUV is expected to be shown in production guise at the 2025 Auto Expo, and a market launch is likely to follow in the first quarter of 2025.

- Creta EV may be priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 30 lakh.

- Hyundai is eyeing a modest 20,000 to 25,000 unit sales per annum for the domestic market.
Hyundai taking a top-down EV approach for India

Quote:
The first step is to use completely knocked-down units or completely built-up imports like the Ioniq 5 and the Kona Electric.

Second step is where it will develop an internal combustion engine platform-derived EV, which is where the Creta EV fits in.

And lastly, a complete localisation of E-GMP platform, which will be used for India and global markets.

" EV SUV is expected to be shown in production guise at the 2025 Auto Expo, and a market launch is likely to follow in the first quarter of 2025."

By then the market will be full of EVs from Tata, MnM (hope), MG, and other Chinese brands.

Re: Hyundai Creta EV in the works

Saw the zero-camouflaged Creta Electric on Chennai Bangalore Expressway yesterday.

No exhaust

No radiator

The driver was driving pretty fast.. Both the bumpers were of a different shade of silver when compared to the body. I'm sure Hyundai will have the facelift version launched..

Re: Hyundai Creta EV in the works

I didn't even realise there was an electric Creta in the works (in hindsight it makes such an obvious candidate for Hyundai!). Bit disappointed to see it's going to take till 2025 for launch. Seems to me a launch even in a years time would really allow Hyundai to make a proper dent in the meat of the EV market so to speak. They seem to have ticked off the top down marker points with the launch of the Ioniq 5 (unless the Ioniq 6 is planned too?).

I realise testing and QC checks take time but can't help but feel if Hyundai were to offer this in the market tomorrow, there'd be a solid chunk of takers, such is the strength of brand "Creta". I imagine the lower end model would take away some Nexon Max customers.

Re: Hyundai Creta EV in the works

Looks like the launch is slated for next year, possibly alongside the Creta facelift. The source of this information has proved to be quite credible in the past

Creta EV spotted in India for the first time. Alloys are totally different than what we have seen in ICE version.

Re: Hyundai Creta EV in the works

Hyundai Creta EV to get 45kWh battery, 138hp motor.

Creta EV prices will be announced by early 2025; will rival Maruti eVX and MG ZS EV.

Quote:
Creta EV to use a 45kWh battery pack
Battery pack to be supplied by LG Chem
Electric motor to be shared with Kona EV
Quote:
Creta EV will employ a 45kWh battery pack that will be supplied by LG Chem, Hyundai’s global supplier of lithium-ion battery packs. The platform will be derived from the regular ICE-powered Creta, albeit with certain modifications.

This, however, means that the Creta EV will have a smaller battery than both its rivals – the MG ZS EV and Maruti’s upcoming eVX. The former uses a 50.3kWh battery, while the latter is likely to be offered with two battery packs upon launch – an entry-level 48kWh variant and a top-spec 60kWh variant. It will however be larger than the Nexon EV’s 40.5kWh battery for the long-range variant.
Quote:
it will be powered by a single motor on the front axle producing about 138hp of power and 255Nm of torque.

The global debut of the Creta EV is expected to take place by the second half of 2024, and a price announcement can be expected in early 2025.
