Suzuki's first EV (eVX) spied testing in Europe

Suzuki's first electric car for Europe begins its tests, the eVX will hit the market in 2025. Will replace the S cross.

Seen on test in Poland, the EV will be presented in 2024 and will be on sale in 2025.

Suzuki eVX presented at the beginning of the year, and which has already been caught in some interesting spy photos. during a technical stop to recharge its battery in Krakow. A compact SUV that will be positioned in the range at the height of the S-Cross
Quote:
The images show this test unit camouflaged with a black vinyl film, clearly showing that it is a Suzuki. His muscular shoulders are one of the details that give him away, but also the design of the rear pillar, the tailgate and the lights that extend from one end to the other, respecting much of the concept presented at the New Delhi Motor Show, especially In the back.

Of course, the doors have evolved significantly, eliminating the typical traces of concept cars, like the front will have some bulky headlights, instead of the thinnest of the prototype. The interior has also been seen, and has two large horizontal screens occupying the dashboard, in the style of the German brands .
Quote:
A model that, according to the Indian MIDC cycle, offers 500 kilometers of autonomy, but which will be much less according to the European WLTP . In addition, it would not be surprising if the new Suzuki eVX, whose trade name is unknown for now, is also manufactured in the same Hungarian facilities as the S-Cross for the European market, which we know will be presented next year and will It will go on sale in 2025

"If" this is a Maruti, then finally RIP the Swift steering wheel. But the window switch console is the same, is it?

Glad to see the In-Trend & here-to-stay "LaaaaargE" Digital console in a Maruti.

Looks interesting. Curious to know if these are with Blade batteries. If so, the range could be practical.

I believe even the window switch console is new, which is really shocking to me.
In fact, apart from the outside rearview mirrors, I can barely see any similarity between this and the other suzuki models.
The gear selector, IRVM, 2 spoke steering wheel, all of it seems brand new. ( But I'm sure they'll launch ten other models with the same parts and continue using it till 2050 )

Is it just me, or does the front 3/4 look a bit like an e2o? The side too does not look very appealing. Will have to wait and see what it looks like without the wrap.

Re: Suzuki's first EV (eVX) spied testing in Europe

Maruti Suzuki eVX EV SUV global debut by October 2024. Will use Toyota's EV architecture.

First born EV SUV from Maruti will take on the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.

Quote:
Maruti eVX will go on sale before its Toyota derivative
The electric SUV will rival the Creta EV
Will be made in India for domestic and export markets
- Maruti and Toyota's born-EV SUVs will be built at Suzuki’s Gujarat plant that has a target to manufacture over 1.25 lakh vehicles per annum at full capacity.

- This will be the mother plant for both SUVs and will cater to, both, the domestic and export markets.

-The SUV will go on sale in India first, despite being a global offering.

- The platform used by Maruti’s eVX SUV – and its Toyota version – is a derivative of Toyota’s 40PL electric skateboard architecture, which is internally codenamed 27PL and is being heavily localised.

- The EV SUV will have a 2,700mm wheelbase, thanks to the born-EV skateboard platform, which will help liberate cabin room.

-The production version is expected to have similar capacity battery, with a real-world range of around 500km, however, the entry-level variant is expected to come equipped with a smaller battery of around 48kWh and around 400km of real-world range.

Re: Suzuki's first EV (eVX) spied testing in Europe

Positive news, EV launch plans very much on track for January 2024 launch.

Personal opinion, for a media exchange or for that matter a senior marketing officer, Maruti needs to get a more astute operator. Someone who answers with more conviction.

Re: Suzuki's first EV (eVX) spied testing in Europe

Suzuki eVX spied again!

Suzuki is carrying out the all-important summer tests. The high temperatures and orography offer an ideal scenario to put the vehicles that are in the development phase to the limit. Especially when it comes to a 100% electric car to which extreme temperatures affect the performance of the battery and, therefore, the autonomy.

In the Suzuki range itself the eVX, or whatever it is finally called, will play the role of electric alternative the Suzuki S-Cross. Both models will have a virtually identical length.

Re: Suzuki's first EV (eVX) spied testing in Europe

Suzuki's eVX spied in Europe again, this time some details of the interior are visible.

-Behind the steering wheel you can sense a dual-screen system. As it could not be otherwise, it will combine a digital instrument cluster with a multimedia touch screen.

- The interior will be digital and connected.

Re: Suzuki's first EV (eVX) spied testing in Europe

This is the Suzuki eVX, the electric successor of the S-Cross will arrive in 2025 with 450 km of autonomy and a very competitive price for Europe:

Suzuki's first EV (eVX) spied testing in Europe-screenshot-20230814-201340.png

Quote:
The front will be dominated by large headlights joined through a trim ribbon and highlighting the absence of the traditional grille, so the breathing of the electric motor and the ventilation of the components has been transferred to the bumper with an opening both above and below the license plate.

The defense will offer lines very typical of the frontal protection of the SUV, just as the sides follow this style with more square wheel arches. A more modern design that will present this eVX, as the handles of the rear doors have been housed in the pillars. The first electric Suzuki will not give up a large panoramic roof, which is hidden under camouflage, and that will reinforce the feeling of habitability and spaciousness in an interior that we have seen that follows the trend of other manufacturers with a large digital screen on the dashboard.
Quote:
The first electric Suzuki is based on a specific platform developed by the Japanese brand, and equipped with at least one electric motor whose maximum power is unknown, although it will also bet on all-wheel drive so it will have a second propulsion unit. What has been confirmed is that it will have a battery housed between the axles with a capacity of 60 kWh. The eVX, which will be presented in India in early 2024 and in Europe in 2025, will offer a maximum range of 450 kilometers on a single charge on the European continent, a hundred less than what it will have in the native country due to differences in the measurement cycle, the Indian MIDC and the European WLTP.

Re: Suzuki's first EV (eVX) spied testing in Europe

New Suzuki eVX concept previews 550 km (342-mile) electric crossover.

Suzuki's first EV (eVX) spied testing in Europe-screenshot-20231025-183708.png

EV crossover is slightly larger than the Vitara and is slated for a mid-decade launch.

- An S-Cross-sized crossover aiming to “carry forward the brand’s 4x4 legacy

- It features a 60kWh battery, allowing it to drive 550km (342 miles) between recharges, according to the Indian MIDC test cycle.

- Its high ground clearance and 4x4 billing hint at it majoring on off-road capability.

- Suzuki’s budget-friendly positioning means that a single-motor, two-wheel-drive powertrain is expected to feature in the bulk of the model’s variants.

- likely to be priced at around £30,000 to compete with the next-generation Citroën C3 and the MG ZS EV.

- The production eVX – slated for launch by 2025 – is likely to use a two-speed gearbox made by Canadian firm Inmotive, with which Suzuki announced a joint-development agreement.

- The ‘Ingear’ transmission, claimed to be the world’s most efficient two-speed gearbox, capable of improving acceleration and range by up to 15%.

Re: Suzuki's first EV (eVX) spied testing in Europe

The car looks premium. Hope it feels so as well. If MSIL can price this in the 12-22 Lakh range, it would be a watershed moment for a company that is generally criticized for its lack of innovation.

Astoundingly, I have not been an EV fan as I (personally) see no considerable cost to clean benefit from them. But if MSIL can break this shackle, I might change my mind. If this one goes above 22 Lakh, I will lose interest in this one as well.

Let's hope for the best.
