Tata Motors is celebrating a new sales milestone as Nexon EV sales cross the 50,000 unit mark.



According to the company, the Nexon EV accounts for up to 15% of the total Nexon sales. It is currently available in over 500 cities across India. Nexon EV owners are said to cover distances of up to 1,500 km at a stretch during long trips. On average, owners drive around 6.3 million km in a month on intercity and outstation trips ranging from 100 to 400 km.

The Nexon EV has been the most popular electric model in Tata's EV portfolio. It is available in Prime, Max and #Dark variants. The crossover uses a 127 BHP electric motor that is powered by a 30.2 kWh battery pack. It is said to offer an ARAI-certified range of 312 km (MIDC cycle).

The Nexon EV Max comes with a 40.5 kWh battery pack, which powers an electric motor with an output of 141 BHP and 250 Nm. It has an ARAI-certified range of 453 km on a single charge.

Congratulations Tata! Excellent feat to be the front runners of EV sales in India, Focus on quality and consistency can make Tata the second largest manufacturer in the country, I would like to see Tata export their EVs outside India too

Guess this is what happens when a product is genuinely good. TML deserves all the success that they have now. And this EV milestone, well, kudos to what TML has done

That is a big feat by Tata!! I am one of 50k users and I couldn't have made a better decision. Taigo EV will follow the suit soon.

With Punch EV, Harrier EV and Currv based EV on the cards to launch in coming one year. They will achieve many more 50ks with other models

Tata Motors invited me to Nexon EV City Dash Event - a drive to celebrate 50,000 Nexon EVs sold. I attended the event with a friend. The event was conducted across India in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Hyderabad.

The Itinerary for the day was as follows



Reached The Grand, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi by 9:45 AM.



We did the event registration and had a light breakfast.



After that the stage was set for event briefing. The event was to drive on a predefined loop and cover 4 historic destinations of Delhi. At each destination a photo was to be clicked with the car, monument and yourself in the picture. This was to be uploaded on Instagram. The person with the highest likes (combined on all 4 pics) and the short test time to cover the defined loop was to be the winner.

After the briefing, there was small cake cutting ceremony





The drive began in batches of 5 cars, we were in the second group.

After that we reached back to the starting point. The Instagram likes count and the time taken was noted by the organizers. By the time, the results were compiled, we helped ourselves to lunch.



The winner was announced. The person who won garnered 5,000 likes (combined on all 4 posts) in 1.5 - 2 hours of completing the loop. A trophy and a goodies bag was given. I am no influencer, i could just manage just 100 likes.

Tata has done an excellent job with its EV strategy, providing cheaper EV options accessible for consumers, first was the Nexon EV which was already built on a highly successful Nexon crossover, then the Tigor and Tiago followed which have made EVs even more accessible that too from below 10 lakhs!. At a time when even an Alto K10 costs 6.58 lakhs on the road in Kerala, the Tiago EV costs just 9.5 lakhs, if we were to compare it with the ICE Tiago it would be around just 2 lakhs difference between similar models. It just goes to show the huge investment Tata has made into its EVs, and with Born Electric EVs coming soon, we will get better range and overall better cars.

So Kudos to Tata for its EVs and hope they keep on coming!

This milestone in Tata's Electric revolution is a testimony of the national building service which Tatas always leads with. I think Nexon EV Max is a much better product and due to its great sales figures the service network is also building up. Very soon we will see only EV Dedicated service centres from Tata Motors and I think thats a great feather in the cap. Most of the EV providing companies like MG, BMW, Hyundai, KIA do not have dedicated EV service teams on most of their service centres, which sours the ownership experience. I have heard some MG's ZS EV owners that their cars were standing for some problem resolution for over 3 weeks in service centers as the trained staff isnt available in region and someone will fly in from Banglore .

The biggest boost is 'Tata EVians NCR & North Premier Group' where EV owners discuss the most nagging practical problems and get good advise from admins, who knows the solution, be it visiting right SC or taking it up with Tata Motors! Initially the group was for Tata Nexon Owners, then it was expanded to Tigor, Tiago and even to MG and Hyundai Electric car owners.

Happy to be part of this family and so glad to contribute my bit to reduce pollution in Delhi NCR region.
