Apart from Tesla, Fisker is the other US-based electric car brand that is planning to launch its EVs in India. It will make its foray with the Ocean electric SUV, which has recently been spotted in Hyderabad.



The Fisker Ocean is a futuristic-looking EV that has quite a road presence. As you can see, the test car has an all-black exterior with sleek LED tail lights, retractable door handles and a roof spoiler with an integrated stop lamp. The SUV rides on massive alloy wheels that are also finished in black.



The Fisker Ocean uses an 80 kWh battery, offering a range of 480 km on a single charge. The SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in around 3 seconds. It comes in two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants.



Earlier, Fisker had confirmed that it would produce 100 Extreme Vigyan Editions of its Ocean electric SUV for the Indian market. It is expected to compete with premium EVs like the Kia EV6, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and Mercedes-Benz EQB.

Fisker had a new office space launch in Hyderabad few weeks back, i believe this vehicle was bought to be showcased during this event.

Great to see EV manufacturers from around the world coming to India, with Tesla and Fisker coming to India, and Maruti launching its first EV in 2025, I see EVs getting a major boost in sales soon, to add to that, Mahindra and Tata have already detailed their EV plans for the next few years as well.

They had put up a stall (no car, only displays and giveaways) in early October at a Fortune magazine event in Bangalore (where NRN was chief guest). I realized pretty late that this was an automotive company and not some consulting company; and when I made my way there after dinner, they'd packed up everything. The sole remaining guy there was apologetic, and explained that they're based in Hyderabad and in fact, he was hired as the office manager.

They probably picked the magazine event for branding, commensurate to the perception they want to create. However, money ill spent, as no one there was remotely interested in automotive
