Kia has taken the wraps off its all-new all-electric SUV, the EV3. The new Kia EV3 is the latest addition to the brand's born-EV lineup, which consists of the EV5, EV6 and EV9. The EV3 is based on the same E-GMP platform as its siblings, while also carrying forward a similar design language, equipment and tech inside.

Starting off with the design, the Kia EV3's silhouette looks like a scaled-down version of the brand's flagship EV9. The SUV measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and 1,560 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,680 mm.



The front comes with LED lights with horizontal and vertical LED DRLs, which form the brand's signature 'tiger-nose'. The bonnet and the side profile are minimalistic with smooth panels. There is plenty of cladding all around the front and rear of the car, giving it a muscular look. At the rear, the EV3 gets vertical tail lights with a hatchback-style tailgate. The electric SUV also features flush-fitting door handles, wrap-around C-pillars, roof-integrated spoiler and flared wheel arches. In addition to this, the Kia EV3 also features aero-optimised wheels with a distinct design.



Inside, the Kia EV3 features a massive screen with two 12.3-inch displays, one for the digital instrument cluster and the other being the touchscreen infotainment. The dashboard features a mix of physical and haptic buttons all around, horizontal air vents and a two-spoke steering wheel. There is plenty of storage all around the cabin, as well as a central armrest in the front, which can be extended to become a table. The infotainment system offers Apple CarPlay & Android Auto while also offering access to a number of video streaming platforms and games to view when the car is charging.



Other features include upholstery made from sustainable materials, a 12-inch head-up display, configurable ambient lighting, a personal AI voice assistant, Harman Kardon sound system and an ADAS suite.



The Kia EV3 comes in two trims: Standard & Long Range. The Standard trim gets a 58.3 kWh battery pack, while the Long Range comes with a larger 81.4 kWh battery. Both trims get a front-axle mounted electric motor producing 201 BHP and 283 Nm. The Long Range variant is said to offer 600 km of range (WLTP cycle), fast-charging capability to charge from 10-80% in 31 minutes, and boasts of V2L capabilities.

The Kia EV3 will go on sale in its home market (South Korea) next month and will be introduced in Europe by late 2024. Kia also confirmed that the Asian markets will get the EV3 in 2025, however, they are yet to ascertain whether or not the EV will come to India. Pricing for the EV3 will be between $35,000 - $50,000.

Quirky and interesting design.

I feel its based on the international Seltos. If some of these looks trickle down to the next gen Seltos in India, it will be an annihilator in the segment.

They should definitely bring it here, same ballpark as MG ZS EV, and upcoming creta, curvv and elevate EV (20-25L) for 60kWh model

If this comes for 25L ballpark, I may replace both our cars with this one

Looks cool. It's like a mini EV9 with some features stripped from its big bro. They could've added pattern lighting to make it stand out more among its peers. Can't wait to see when it'll hit India and what battery size it'll pack.

The way it's fully loaded, I doubt it would be priced reasonably -- as mentioned in the below video, suspect it to be heavily priced

It is a very interesting product which may come to India next year. So, 2025 will be very interesting for Indian market w.r.t. EVs as many manufacturers like Maruti, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, M&M etc. will launch their EVs based on born EV platforms. It will be fun to see the competition for best value for money EV w.r.t cost/Km range.

Really loved the car how it looks. For the smaller battery with base trim should start around 20L(which may be fairly equipped).

If Hyundai & KIA wants to fight the Chinese, this car should be built here, sold at competitive pricing. Hope they have used a LFP chemistry for the 58kwh battery.

Fighting with the Chinese is increasingly difficult for many manufacturers now, they are getting cells for 47$/kwh.

I do not understand why the car designs are getting complicated, pale, and uninspiring as if someone from outer space devoid of human emotions has designed it. Also, IMO the overall exterior with curves and lights may distract other road users. But the interiors are good.

Alloys seem inspired by 'next pattern in the sequence' questions from the logical reasoning paper.

-A combined driving range of more than 400 kilometers at low temperatures (below -6.7 degrees Celsius)

- Low-temperature combined mileage of the EV3 long-range 17-inch wheels is 401 km (381 km in the city and 424 km on the highway), and the 19-inch wheel specification is 382 km (370 km in the city and 396 km on the highway).

-The EV3 Long Range 17-inch has the second-highest low-temperature mileage among Hyundai Motor Group's E-GMP platform EVs, after Hyundai's IONIQ 6 18-inch (428km combined, 402km in the city, and 459km on the highway).

-The EV3 Long Range 17-inch has a combined driving range of 510 km at room temperature (556 km in the city and 455 km at high speed) according to the Ministry of Environment, and 501 km according to the Ministry of Industry.

- The EV3 19-inch has a range of 485 km (526 km in the city and 434 km on the highway), and the certification criteria of the Ministry of Industry and Industry have not yet been officially announced.
