This information is not relevant for range difference calculations as when the car is moving, it keeps transferring its heat to the nearby wind. So actually car's surface temperature is not that much different from the atmosphere temperature.

Air temperature is far more important factor affecting the range. In fact higher air temperature hinders battery cooling, as coolant is not able to effectively pass the heat from itself to the surroundings.

.

Here is the thing, you still have two sources of heat even when the car is moving.

One is the Sun and it will heat up the black car much higher and faster.
Second is the warm air in summer, when the air temperature is 35C to even 40C in some places vs the desired interior temperature of the car set to 25C or below.

So even if the car is moving, while the air cools the temperature of the car body panels, it can only cool upto the air temperature. Think of it as a hair dryer on low temperature setting.

Note: Humans and animals if exposed to wind, we experience the additional wind chill factor, wind chill does not apply to non living beings. So when you are sitting inside the car with windows closed it doesn't apply to you.

Bottom line a white car will give more range. Not to mention, its also statistically safer anyhere between 12% to 47% depending on the time of the day.

Saw one walk past me recently and I thought it looked super cool in red and recognised it only after watching the motorinc first on this car. This car should definitely come in all the cool sports car colours like yellow, sky blue, magenta.

Does it really need 200mm ground clearance. I can go close to flat out in 2nd gear on my duke 390 on speed breakers with only 180mm of clearance. Surely, this would be much better as a driver's car when lowered by another 20mm. I find it really suspicious that Mahindra refuses to release kerb weights for their cars.

This car also makes me scared as a pedestrian and a motorcyclist. I cross an inclined T junction near my place somewhat regularly and these SUVs are as tall as me. A two tonne death machine that is as fast as a Triumph speed 400 without gear changes with heavy cabin sound insulation is no joke.

The wheelbase plays a significant role in how a vehicle handles speed bumps, so this isn't an apples-to-apples comparison.

....

Hoping they price is reasonably and not force the consumers to buy a charger along because I see no point in getting one due to the fixed electricity cost and installation cost that comes along with it.

1. A similar story was sung to me. They said it was a bike and a parked car. And as per strict instruction, they'd like to ensure things were 100% before the TD vehicle is made available again. So they say..

2. I don't want their charger either. The more you hunt, you'll see comments saying that SAs may have cracked a deal with some buyers to the contrary. For instance, the place where I plan on setting up the charger is quite remote. I don't see a team managing to go there and doing anything meaningful.

After careful consideration, I've decided on the Everest White Satin color for my first EV. My primary reason is maximizing potential range. I figure if I'm going electric, I should make choices that optimize for range when necessary.
Plus, after comparing black and white, I think the white really highlights the car's sharp lines and overall shape, giving it a more supercar-like appearance. The black, on the other hand, seems to make the design blend together more.

Also my wife is the final commanding officer & she chose whitelol:

Pack two pricing is not bad at all for both cars. Even Pack 3 Select for the BE6. Just got it on WhatsApp.

Fantastic pricing for pack two and pack three select. Pack two is infact undercutting Curvv 55 top end. Even pack three select is priced at par with Creta Electric.

My only grouse is unavailability of Pack two or pack three select in 79 Kwh battery.

Variant wise feature list is also out. IMO the pricing and feature list is quite good.

XEV 9e:

BE 6:

Absolutely killer pricing for pack 2 and pack 3 select. With pack 2 I'm essentially missing nothing (except the big battery). It's like Mahindra read my mind as to what I consider as extras (360 cam, AR HUD, auto fold ORVM) and gave me things I want (adaptive cruise control, fancy speaker system).

I think I can definitely consider pack 2 59kwh. I would have absolutely loved pack 2 79kwh at 23.5-24 lakhs, but seems like that isn't happening in next few months :(

PACK ONE and TWO of BE 6 and XEV 9e are reasonably priced. Still, the pack ONE variants of both models are the most value-for-money EVs in the market.

I will choose XEV 9e PACK ONE over BE 6 PACK TWO any day for the same price. XEV 9e pack 1 is the most value-for-money EV in the market, IMO.

Pack 3 offers capacitive touch screen buttons on console and steering wheel. Does that imply Pack 1 & 2 will have physical buttons. That would be a win-win for Pack 1 & 2 buyers.

Incredible pricing pack 2 and pack 3 select are so well priced. I need that audio system that's it.

I personally found that orange a bit . It looks overly saturated in pics but when I saw it parked at the showroom, it looks slightly lighter. Especially in sunlight it looks like a light orange, almost faded. It might appeal to very young buyers but the neon-esq cyberpunk aspect but didn't appeal to me. I feel it will be that one color that ages very bad & becomes an irritant over time. Looks cartoonish in my opinion & is definetly not for me.

My opinion on the different shades:

I felt the Tango red was actually good along with the piano black finish. Its a dark (Almost maroon shade of red)

Was super excited to see the green, and got a glimpse of it on the XeV9e but I was not impressed. It didnt look like a metallic shade like seen on the seltos or compass.

Black looks good, but it does feel like it diminishes the overall size of the car, making it look a bit smaller because now the piano black bits blend in. Also, like I previously mentioned, the sharp lines sort of disappear. I even failed to notice the cool Aero bits on the frunk area because it blends in. The highlight of the black is that all the lights disappears when off because they are all blacked out & it looks really cool.

Also if you are considering the Orange, Do see it in person once rather than just in images before making your choice.
