Mahindra BE 6 Review
(
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/electric-cars/288203-mahindra-6-review-42.html)
My assumption is around 25K combined bookings, max. Anything above that, i'll take with a pinch of salt.
Expected delivery timeline BE6
Pack 3: Mid March 25
Pack 2: June 25
Pack 1: August 25
Sharing the price list from NBS International (Mumbai, Maharashtra). No mention of optional R20 and premium on Satin paint (if any) yet.
As usual, the insurance is exorbitantly inflated.
Which colour is everyone planning to go for? Confused between red and black. Very less media coverage of the black one so it's getting difficult to decide
Friends, is there a cancellation charge on booking ? For xuv700, scorpio-n, etc., they charged in some cases and not all.
Hence the curiosity for this electric series.

I was considering black. But after hearing about the affect of heat has on range i dropped that plan. I then saw the satin white and had made my peace with white although I am not a big fan of white cars. But now Ive seen the desert myst in satin and it looks very cool. So I am opting for it. It has a very rugged look to it.

I was about to go ahead with a white windsor because of the very same issue (range + ineffective cooling). However, BE6 has ample range (even with 59kWh) so I'm willng to take a range hit for a darker colour. The black cladding and body arches look too fat to me so I thought of going for black but I worry that all the lines and creases will dull down in black because it's just too black

We visited showrooms and looked at Red, Orange, White and Desert Mist - both in Satin (Matt finishes). Those were the only ones we could find on road in nearby showrooms. Wanted to look at black and deep forest as well but there were none here in showrooms (asked the SAs and that's the answer we got). All of them looked better physically than in photos. Left the decision to wife since I'm changing my opinion everyday lol:
She decided it will be the tango red one for us.clap:

Any comments on the above from people staying in such gated communities would be greatly appreciated. As this is one of the main things that is keeping me from taking the plunge |
Electric 2W adoption has already enabled a lot of the apartments in Bangalore to allow 15A socket at individual parking spots.
I live in a prestige society and we have 100+ EVs across 2Ws and 4Ws with their own private charging points.
Even a standard 15A socket is enough to slow charge these cars. Yes it takes time but unless you are driving 100s of KMs everyday it's more than enough. Bangalore also has tons of DC charging infra now, so a quick 20 minutes top up is all you need if you need to charge the car fully and if overnight charging on 15A is too slow. I have 5+ DC chargers in a 3 KM radius from my home. Jio BP and Shell have great coverage within the city. Recommend checking out plugshare to have an idea of the options near your home.
Using a 3.3 kW charger is a good upgrade over the 15A in terms of charge speed especially if you have the 79 kWh variant but 15A will cover 95%+ of your charging needs.
Booked both black and red. The url showed sequence as 238 and 2338 respectively. Is that the booking sequence?

Today, I took a test drive of the Be6. I had to wait for the test drive, as it was scheduled for 10:30 am, but the car arrived at the showroom at 12 pm. The test drive was only 3 km long. The car looked futuristic and had more advanced technology, but I faced two issues during the test drive. First, the steering wheel was square, making it difficult to turn. Second, the brake was too sharp even a small tap would stop the car. Are EV brakes generally like this? I didn't face this issue with the Tata Harrier; its braking was very smooth. |
I took a second test drive, and fortunately, it was a different color car. In this one, the braking was perfect. I also asked the sales advisor about the difference in braking, but she had no clue. Since everything was perfect, I pre-booked the Everest White Satin.
I also checked with my society, and they said they have no issue if the charger connection is taken from my meter, which is good news. However, I checked my current meter, and it is a single-phase with 0.67 kW. I believe I will need to upgrade it to a three-phase and increase the kW capacity for the charger. I also checked with the sales advisor, and she mentioned that Mahindra personnel would inspect my electrical connection once my car is allotted.

Where do you see this ? For my booking, I see ‘Online Booking Ref ID’ starting with pr47 and ‘Booking Payment Ref ID’ as 11-digit numerals.

The booking successful url looked like this:
mahindraelectricsuv(dot)com/own-online/booking-confirmation?tokenId=
BEV-0000002238
This number was 238 for my first booking (9:01) and 2238 for my second booking (9:02). I am assuming this has something to do with the sequence.
I have paid pre-booking amount to my nearby dealer quite a while back.
He booked it today for me but it doesn't show any booking ID.
Is it the same for others?

Same for me.
I had booked (pre-booking) at two dealerships.
One dealership that booked it for me today is showing in my account.
The other dealership is saying the booking is done, but it is not showing up in my father's account.
