Electric Porsche 911 by RUF

Never imagined an electric 911! Imagine a 911 with no sound!

Powered by a three-phase electric motor that offers about 200 horsepower along with an impressive 480 lb.-ft. of torque, the eRUF Model A can reportedly hit 60 miles per hour in under seven seconds and can reach a top speed of 160. Power comes from a lithium iron phosphate battery pack, which produces 317-volts and 480-amps and is made up from 96 individual cells. A full charge takes a rather long 10-hours, and regenerative braking is included in the package allowing for a range of up to 180 miles. From the outside, you'd never really know that something was different about this 997, except that it doesn't produce that soul-stirring flat-six sound. This is still just a concept and its specifications are subject to change.

What a classic example of a completely pointless car! If you want to go electric for whatever reasons, there are pure-electric cars which do more for less. Or get the Tesla roadster!

dude electric cars can do 0-60 faster than normal cars, because of the low end torque......
the normal ic engines take more time to reach their power band, whereas an electric engine has a lot a lot i.e. of low end torque.......
so ya it should improve the performance................... not otherwise........

Why use a 911 as the base for this? Simple. No matter what you say, most Porsche drivers haven't bought their cars for its performance. Something like this gives them the snob-value they are looking for as well as bragging rights of something different with the electric motor.
RUF is better off building something from ground up.

PS: I will admit i like the super clean, vent/scope free look of the car.

Gosh , why-o-why . Simple disrespect to the legend.

0-100 in under 7 seconds , even Audi TT can do that.

O.T : I even saw in one of the magazines a few months back an electrical sportscar which did a 0-100 in 3.5 odd seconds.

Looks like the car will need speakers inside and outside to create the engine sound according to the speed. Otherwise whats the use of a Porsche that's silent and just whirrs. ICE Gurus any suggestions

but one genuine question. when does it redline and creates the growl. no gear changes so no redlines you see
