Things to do and buy in UK

Hi Folks, My company is sending me to UK for a month. I was wondering if any of you know any good hangout places that I should visit. I am more interested in night life, clubs, pubs etc. and not so much as seeing Palaces and all.... So any night clubs that you recommend...
Also, are electronic goods in UK as cheap as US, I know in Europe things are costly, but not sure about UK (although its in Europe) but dont have any experience... is buying an IPOD or Laptop cheaper there? Or should I get that from US, the reason I ask is that I might have an opportunity to go to US in August, so if not now, I can wait and buy in August.... Let me know what you think

I would buy things from the USA. They tend to be cheaper than in the UK. Have a look on the likes of the amazon sites (amazon.co.uk and amazon.com) and see how prices compare for the things you want. You may want to run the items through one of those price checkers like froogle to see which country has the most bargains.

As for nighclubs, pubs etc it all depends on what town you are going to. So tell us where you will be based and I am sure your fellow forum members can give you a few pubs to visit.

UK generally is expensive, but you would be able to get some good cosmetics if you are interested. You can also get great crystal stuff.

UK is almost as expensive as India. For electronics far east and USA are the best.

Didn't think it was wise to open a new thread, hence reviving this old one to get some inputs from you guys about what stuff can be bought from UK.

I am not talking about cosmetics or crystalware here. Neither things specific to cars only. General stuff which can be carried hasslefree through the customs. I will land in Delhi.

You can bring in RS25,000 of goods duty free in addition to your used personal effects. Also 1 laptop/netbook can be carried duty free in addition to the 25K of goods. Carry receipts with you and you should not have any problems with customs.
