whteva u do do not buy SONY. im looking to buy a CASIO mostly they are nice with big screens and mmc slots with good quality image as well. canon is nice too . try finding the price for Casio EX - S100. its a 3.2mp. very nice though. lemme know if u get grey price. shud be a lil over 10 though its worth
I had bought a Kodak CX7300 a few months back. Its fine for me... *although a simple camera.
its 3.2 Mega Pixel... *
No Optical Zoom... only digital zoom.. which isn't good.
it comes with a 16mb in-built memory which is not enough. so I bought a 128mb MMC card.
In total 10k.... *no grey market.
this is for example
Here's a Review

Jesal,
Why would you say that? I've two Sony camera's DSC U-40 & DSC-T1...I'm quite happy with both of them. Just the flaw with T1 is red eye thing that happens quite a few times since the lens & flash are quite near. Fellow member N_C also purchased a Sony P100 camera a few days back & is very happy with it. I'd like to know the shortcomings in Sony's if you know anymore.
I suggest CANON A60/70/80 or Nikkon 2XXXX/3XXX. I don't know prices in India but sure these brands and model are available over there. In Mumbai best place to buy such things is JJ Mehta (Dadar)
Hope this helps.

Hey Speedsatya
I'm in the same situation as you right now. Wanted a inexpensive digicam.
Well I first bought the Nikon Coolpix 2200 as it is a great price, but after using it I'm not too impressed with the picture quality. I'm exchanging it for the Canon A400 which is a 3.2MP cam with 2.2 optical zoom. From what I'm read, this seems to be one of the best cam's in this price range.
If you wanna stretch it a couple of thousand, get the Canon A75 or Sony P73. I prefer Canon only because of the Stitch Assist feature that lets to take great panorama pics.

If u a good deal then go to jjmehta in mumbai, he's got the best deals. u can check out th prices here
JJMehta
I dunno about JJMehta. when i called them up, they kept me on hold for 10 mins and they soudned least interested. If this is the case before buying, i wonder what service they would offer after you buy anything from them.
First impressions are everything and a grumpy guy answering the phone and keeping you on hold is not the best way to sell.
And you will find better deals elsewhere.
Rt
thanks guys

i have been thru the same thing rtech. I called up JJ a day before buyin the cam. He was least interested. And to top it all the price he gave me on the phone was atleast 2-3k more than whats put up on their site. Also JJ gives only a 2-3 months warranty on the cam. I dont know abt sales/service.
yeah jesal
would love hear ur reasons for not going in for the sony. as rj says he is happy and i am too

mate i say no sony heres a reason not only digicams i have bought 10 items from sony in say 4 yrs ok and they were hell expensive. everything would malfunction in a years time. for EG: my sony trv 33 handycam bought for rs. 40000 last diwali could not even see this diwali since its CCD sensor would not work. cost of repairs rs. 12500. hows that. i used the handycam not more than 10 times without dropping it or anything. store it nice and it goes bonkers
