Have a look at this:

Its a DIY & for those who got the gear.

Even if you dont have the gear & time, a local photo studio can do the job for you.

Since they are color slides you might not need editing.

Re: Digitizing your old photo collection?

Another part of digitizing the old photos - where do you guys keep 'em?

I have a copy stored on a external HDD and some selective ones on the laptop. I was thinking of using a cloud solution that would enable ready viewing on any device - laptop, tablet, phone etc. I found flickr the most suitable option with apps for all devices including laptops and also an option to autoupload from a specific folder on the laptop. They are also offering the largest storage space.

Any other solutions?

I've resized the snaps and uploaded them to Google Drive. Offers 15 GB of space for free and I've consumed half of it. It has a desktop application as well.

You can try Office Lens for scanning both pictures and documents. I use this frequently. Its a free app available on all platforms and developed by microsoft.

The space restriction is kind of a bummer. Flicker is offering 1 TB - I usually upload full resolution pics. I use Google photos to backup my phone pics though!
