Hello guys:

Need some help here. I have a small consultancy business that i run from the home. I need a software for billing purposes. The key elements would be:

• Date, start time, end time, elapsed time capture.
• Summation of the times spent (elapsed time) on a Month basis.
• Billing by multiplying the time spent by the (day) rate.
• Adding GST etc as applicable.
• Adding any other expenses other than the per diem rate.
• Bill.
• Track of payments
• Accounting.

Is there a simple software that is available for small (one man) consultants? Would be obliged for some help on this issue.

I'm a graphic designer and these are my exact requirements too.

I'm currently making do with Excel, but this means that I need to give a lot of time for manually calculating the time. Final result - delayed billing.

Pretty sure there is a way to automate this in Excel, but I don't know how.

I have partially provided macros in excel. But i would like a professional software, which keeps tracks of bills too.

My wife works as a medical consultant and I’m using Wave to invoice her hours.
Very simple, all Cloud based, completely free of charge.

Works a treat for us

Interesting, but this doesn't have Time Tracking which is a major requirement.

Can you check out ClearTax? Have heard many good things about it, and it can handle invoices too. Since they have options for professionals, am sure the software will have a field for number of hours.

I can and i did. However, the emphasis of Cleartax seems to be for tax computing, Income Tax as well as GST. Yes, it seems to have some bundled invoicing solutions, but as far as i could see, no time tracking.

We are on Zoho and being cloud based, we can use it across multiple teams and locations. Nice clear interface and easy to set up and use. The mobile app is excellent as well. Its a breeze to send estimates, purchase orders and even invoicing from a smart phone itself !

The customer care is good as well and do their best to attend to any queries as soon as possible.

And very practical VFM pricing as well !
