i think that this cell phone radiation stuff is a damn hoax...
There is absolutely no study..none that provides a conclusive link between cell phone radiation and cancer, or any stuff like that.

This is just a case of misinformation and misrepresentation of facts by the media and the layperson...

You can go ahead and buy any of the new genertion of phones from sony ericsson (Value for Money) or Nokia and be happy with your purchase :-)

You can wear a tinfoil hat while making telephone conversations. This way no radiation will effect you.

Re: Cell Phones with the lowest radiation levels in India

I don't need a study to tell me a microwave radiation is harmful to human body, or insecticides/weedicides which can kill animals/plants are harmful to human body. The manufacturer's can lobby al they want, there is this little thing called common sense that some of us have.

in any case, in view of the following, how can we minimize (not eliminate) exposure to radiation?

WHO: Cell phone use can increase possible cancer risk - CNN.com

1. Does a headset carry radiation close to the ears? I guess not because cell antennae is not connected to the headset port.
2. Do phones emit substantial MW energy while being used but not in call?
3. Does browsing by wifi have same effect? I am told wifi consumes energy faster than gprs.
4. in laptops, does wifi emit MW if I am wired at work and no connection is made to wireless?
5. Do cordless phones emit any radiation when put on charger base? off charger base but not in call?

This is the reason I bought a kindle a while back so I can be radiation/glare free. For convenience I leave the wifi on but now I am rethinking that part. How often does kindle wifi wake up?

This is also the reason I have started keeping the cellphone at least a few feet away while sleeping.

vivek. You need to go and burn your WIFI router. Do you know schools are banning WIFI in premises because of danger to children.

Re: Cell Phones with the lowest radiation levels in India

Actually I have been thinking of the same for a while. not burning, but turning wifi off and wiring my house for internet.

OT, your statement is in stark contrast with the one below. I hope you are being serious this time

That adds another question.

6. do routers emit radiation when not connected to any computer via wifi?

Samsung E1172 / 1175 has a lower SAR value. This i have bought for the elders in the family.

I had a motorola F3, which had sub 0.5 SAR value!

On a serious note, there are hundred of radio waves floating around you all day long. Cellphone waves, wifi, television signals, radio, microwave, microphones etc.. The only way to escape this is by relocating to a jungle. But I doubt that jungles now a days are radio waves free.
