My 2cents, when buying a flat panel TV , a display piece is a bad choice.
Unlike a display fridge or a washing machine which are truly used for "display" a TV is ripped to the core running for 12 hrs continuously.

There is no stock on 50ST50 yet in the panasonic warehouse.

They say the stocks could reach as late as August end or mid September. Waiting game i guess.:Frustrati

I'm interested in the 50ST50 group buy, and don't mind waiting a bit.

Today went to panasonic shop in bangalore. 42ST50 is available @ Rs 86000. 50ST50 will be available only by end of this month and @ Rs 1.1L.

When I was looking for 42ST50, I was given a quote of 62K for 42UT50 by a major retailer (Thane - Ghodbunder Road). That was a week ago.

Guys any idea how much a 50UT50D plasma would cost?

50UT50D should be around 76-85K. i just picked up the 50ST50 from Trivandrum @99K including the HT, wall mount some freebees as well.

Check QRS in trivandrum who have some excellent offers and models available as well.

50GT50 is also available.

About 6 months ago I bought a Panasonic P42U30D full HD (1920 X 1080) Plasma without 3D. It came with a 3 year warranty for Rs 40,300/=. The TV is perfect for me and I love it. The colors are real, and I have set up DLNA to be able to browse and play all movies in my network PC including High Definition MKV (DTS). No media player required, the TV Remote can browse and play all of my 3 TB Media collection.

This Model was really hard to find then as it was discontinued. Now I want another TV like this. I want a 1920 X 1080 Hi Def Plasma without 3D in this price range. Sadly there are no similar models from Panasonic anymore. Can anybody suggest something similar at a similar price ?

If I dont find something similar I will just buy the Samsung Series 5 LED from the grey market for about 40 K

If you can push your budget a little higher you can get the XXST30 or XXUT30 or XXGT30 series.

@ the price point of 40K you are looking at a full HD 490D samsung. I think it should be around 50-55 K.

This is what the local dealer told me today. There is a shipment coming on 26th and around 12 pieces in total for 50ST50 in chennai.

I have a guy in Viveks who can block one for me.

If anyone is interested in 50ST50 in chennai can message me so i can route you through to the Viveks dealer and you can block one.

0% interest 14 installment is also available. You may have to shell out around 500 more for processing fee. But totally worth it knowing you will be paying arond 5.8k / Month.

5800 per month? That means Rs. 81200 for 50ST50? Thats a pretty good price.

The price would be definitely around 98-1.02L with the HT included. No point in excluding the HT for they may deduct 5K while the HT is around 17K
