Guys,

In the market for a LED Smart TV. What are my options in the budget of 60K+- 5K. What about going for a Non-Smart tv and using an Android stick instead.

What is this Android stick? Smart TVs are so expensive, I would like something that can help me watch Youtube from Ipad or Android phone on a non-smart TV.

A Chromecast would serve your needs perfectly.

An Android Stick is essentially an android device that uses your TV screen as its display. You would need an external keyboard/trackpad to control it.

Thanks a ton. Now I can buy a bigger screen without the smart name tag. Chromecast is listed for Rs 3200 in amazon.in. Makes lot of sense for me.

Do a bit of research before you order Chromecast, nothing wrong with , just that there are lot of other brands and features out there.

Just picked up Samsung 40H6300 from grey market for 43500rs for a friend.
It's a smart tv with wifi and looks great. Good value.

That is a great price! Would the grey market piece covered under company warranty? Since I see couple of great deals on ebay.

The eBay prices are 3-4k more than street prices. Definitely no company warranty. It's a risk but it's like buying a tv from Malaysia or Singapore.
We also picked one more basic one 32F4003 for 19500. On the whole it's a good deal to buy grey, especially if you save 8-10k from showroom prices for one year of warranty...

I purchased LG42LA6620 for 69K on snapdeal. Its a full HD 3D Smart Cinema TV. The HD Movie channels and Sports channels are awesome. SD channels aren't that bad. there is nothing to write about the tv speakers. Overall happy with the TV. It came with one year manufacturer warranty.

Hi Guys,

Need your advice: My current led went kaput and on the lookout for a new tv and confused between Sony 40W900A and LG 42LB6500. Do let me know if anyone has some ideas as I didn't much news on the LG one on the net. Planning to get this sorted soon, hence please reply at the earliest.

Thanks,
Sid

This was a 40 inch Samsung 6 Series LED model bought in 2010 and the authorized technician from Samsung says that the panel is out now, never buying one from Samsung

I am getting more practical now and looking towards reliability as topmost priority. Samsung LED failure in a bit more than three years is not very encouraging. Is Sony LED TVs durable? My Sony CRT TV is 14 years old and probably still going strong in the hands of the person I gifted.

My In-laws 3 Year Old Samsung 46" LED purchased for Rs. 1.25 Lakhs went Kaput. Panel gone for good. Some wise guy told LED's are prone to failure and told them to buy PLASMA. They have purchased a Samsung Smart Plasma 51" for 75K. Very good stuff.
