There are no cons in terms of picture quality. Monitors always have very high resolution and if yours is an HD monitor you'd be able to watch HD channels in full glory from the HD set top box.

Well my previous post was truncated I meant settop box.

Yes after digitization of cable HD / nonHD channels ate available through settop box do there is no point in buying an analog tuner card.

About cons Check the response time of your monitor . Older IPS monitors used to have longer so were not very suitable for video however gaming monitor can outperform TV.

Also check if your monitor supports full Hd resolution or not.

The Display panel of my two year old 40” SONY LCD is gone.
:FrustratiI only wish the display panel for this particular model is unavailable with Sony India, so that I could buy a brand new 40” TV [LED] @ a 25% discount on the MRP as it was brought from abroad.

If made in India, by paying the cost of the faulty Display Panel [ =say Rs.22,000] one can get a brand new 40” LED.

Any feedback on below 32 Incher. Getting it for around 31000 under exchange of Old CRT

On Paper specifications look excellent .

You can get a non-smart one much cheaper and convert into a Smart TV using Chromecast or something like that for a much less cost.

Read my post again - I am suggesting buying a non-smart one + Chromecast. You will get a combo which is much cheaper than the one you are buying.

Though I am ready to invest in a Plasma, this is out of my reach. I will see if some dealers have good plasmas left.

Saw a Panasonic PDP 42ST50D at Reliance Digital Thane. They also have some Samsung PDP in their stocks. Have seen 42GT50D with few portals as well. Do a thorough research as the replacement of them under warranty would be a challenge with shutdown of their production lines.

Think PDP would be great and price negotiable.

What is the price of the TV ? Can we use it as a normal TV viewing where the channel logo is displayed static.

Most PDP have auto-Wobbler to negate the logo effect. Pls do check.

If your tv is for commercial use and where you place it does not have any reflections then I would suggest a plasma as they are long lasting. If you have decided on an LED,I would recommend LG as their service is fantastic.
If your looking for something with a tight budget,I would suggest Philips or a Panasonic.
Griha Vaibhav in Bangalore gives very good and honest prices without confusing you on the rates, discounts and scratch cards.

I am told that the MicroMax TV's are fantastic indeed.
And extremely well priced too!

Folks, what's a good Blu-ray player to buy these days?

Thanks for the update. Yes, need to check brick and mortar stores. Will probably go in 2 weeks and do some research.
