Even a magazine (high fi or something) ranked Panasonic the best in Plasmas. They were tops even in LCDs with Sony very close second.

I saw the offer from Vu today Full HD LCD 42" for 69000/-
anyone used it?
any way of getting it at delhi ?

I would also like to know if anyone has used Samsung PS42Q91H or PS42C7H and how does it compare against PV70 in real life in terma of gaming, resolution and burnin proximity.

I can get a huge discount on samsung, so info is crucial cause my preference wud be quality

i seriously doubt the quality of these vu lcd displays - had to recommend a friend to go for the panny 42" plasma at 60k instead of the vu lcd

Here's the comparison, I believe its a brand floated by Zenith and marketed using Croma chain of stores.

Its funny they haven't advertised anything for north India. The webpage looks too crappy as well as if they assemble stuff in their backyad warehouse and made the website sitting there too. I wonder about after sales n stuff

Panny 42" @ 60K/- Where, please.

EDIT: Never mind. I guess I missed reading the previous page. Croma, eh?

hi guys,

after seeing a lot of negative views on lcds and plasmas, specially as I watch a lot of sports, have decided my plans to shelve the plans to buy one for the time being, as they seem to be not as good as CRT's for sports. I was wondering if there are any HD ready type CRT's available in the market, and also if 100hz CRT sets are really any good compared to normal CRT's.

I had heard of a philips with a higher pixel count sometime back but dont know if it is still available. your inputs would help.

@ mav 2000:

My frined has a 29" samsung 100hz crt and ps3 looks awesome on it. Check it out at samsung stores

panasonic pv 7 58500 - 62000/- , some easy hunting n u`d find one

Lol. Yes I was getting the feeling, hence haven't posted on this thread for many days.

ps: I picked up a Sony Bravia 40" D series LCD last month. It's not Full HD but has the motion flow processor which takes care of the motion judder to a good extent. There are 3 modes for the motion flow and it works fine on low and mid, high is really not needed as it gives a slight artificial appearance to the picture.

With Tata-sky the clarity isn't great, which has been discussed here in last few posts due to the 16:9 stretch.

Hi VID

Congrats on the purchase! How much did u pay for ur TV?
And whatever happened to 'I wound't compromise on PQ' thingy? No offence, but was surprised at ur LCD decision (both LCD and SONY) as till sometime back u were recommending Plasma's or Panasonic/Hitachi for LCD's (and once over this very TV).

It would nice if you could explain why you went for Bravia D series

Thanks

Elito

Ha ha, ask a marketing MBA, what marketing is capable of doing :)
Half this country buy's fairness cream, believing it will make them fair.
LCD is better and newer technology is also a similar marketing hype.

You want to see it yourself... go to any shop that stocks both and watch a standard definition signal from 1meter, and you would see the color gradations, juddering, pixelation etc in LCD.

Also LCD is not a new technology, it came even before plasma, some time in 80's. Only that it picked up lately.

Plasma's are not great step from CRT
What do you mean by that? CRT still has the best picture quality amongst all kinds of TVs!!! Plasma is closest to CRT (picture quality) and is flat (wall hangable)

Actually, I was earlier looking at LCDs and more specifically Sony D series.

But after detailed comparison with Plasma, I am now planning to go for Panasonic Plasma.
Waiting for the 2008 series to be launched, as it has PQ close to current Pioneer Kuros (which cost 1.5 lacs)...which is the best. Anybody aware on the launch date of Panasonic 8 series in India???

^^I've been asking around the same as well. No panasonic rep yet has a clue.
