As today is 1st, thought of getting grocery items from Amazon Pantry on Amazon and unable to find it.
Could not find anything from seller Cloudtail.
Is this also down because of the same FDI rules. I guess the option of getting items at our convenience combined with cheap rates have gone for now. Lets see how this goes ahead.

Correct, everything from the sellers wherever these MNC's have some ownership have to be taken off. It will be very difficult for Amazon and Flipkart to survive without these sellers in my opinion. Looks more like a populist measure to help small businesses. I always used to buy items sold by cloudtail but may not have same level of confidence on other sellers. Looks Trump will need to make another call :)
New FDI norms stop e-tailers from selling products of companies they own - Posts moved to a new thread.
The consumer, as always in our country, being taken for granted. So, whats new?
Is not there some way that consumers could unite and petition the government to withdraw this legislation?

I wish there was. I'd also add another petition to scrap the stupid TRAI overhaul of DTH services. Its done nothing but cause pain to consumers and made DTH services more expensive. :Frustrati
The banana republic strikes again! Nothing good can last in this nation of eternal whiners.
Without Cloudtail, half of my Amazon shopping would be gone too. No renewing that Prime subscription in 2019. I switched to online for convenience and better service than for lower prices. Still, there is no way I am giving my business to the arrogant B&M scumbags unless they shed their stinky attitude and offer proper return policy.
I am deeply disappointed. No Cloudtail means no Amazon to me.
Airtel pays for my prime membership and will retain that it for their car show.
I thought there might be some disadvantage to other retailers using the platform. But how can they ask them not to sell at all ? Will they spinoff those businesses ?
I know it will not happen but it will be funny if Amazon and Flipkart decide to let their subsidiary companies to sell in each other's platforms just to spite the government. i.e. Cloudtail or Aparrio selling on Flipkart and Billion or MarQ selling on Amazon.stupid:
Can these companies, just not create a seperate new website, in which they sell their own products ONLY, like a First Party Brand (Eg. Nike.com/Lacoste.in) ?
This would not violate any terms of our irrational government, and they would still be able to leverage the services of back-end Amazon delivery.
Price curbing to match offline pricing is the only part which I accept in the Govt.'s take. However, banning the entire product range is simply not justifiable.
I basically lived off AmazonBasics. If there was a product I was searching for, and a AmazonBasics variant was available, I'd choose that even if was more expensive! It's so darn reliable and I'm assured of best quality!
ebay.in would be having nice laugh now from up in the Internet heavens or wherever old sites die and go. I'd never forgive flipkart for killing ebay.in
Amazon is dead for me if Cloudtail and likes are not allowed to sell. They had a number of subsidiaries like Appario retail etc. All of them are banned now it seems!
So it looks like products sold by cloudtail and appario are not available for retail (individual) users only. I have a business account with amazon and all products are available. They are now sold by cloudtail business and appario business. So if you can get a business account (all you need is a GST number), then the entire catalog seems to be available.

Thats brilliant. Thanks for the tip. This is very similar to the metro cash and carry business that is operating at the moment.
