6233 ... good enough ?

Hi All !!

I am contemplating buying Nokia 6233 so just need suggestions on howz the phone in terms of durability, batery life and if there are some known issues with the phone.

My requirements are :-
- 1.3 megapix camera
- mp3 player
- unlimited telephonic conversation recording.

It has the above 2 features but is Spy call required or it has an inbuilt feature of conversation recording ?

Please let me know if its fine to go for 6233 or any other phone you can think of under 10 K budget and nothing above 10K

And wats the difference in music ed and the other one ?

Existing users please advice.

Also how is this phone in comparision to E50, 6300 and SE Z550i in terms of my requirements.

It's a nice phone & but You can't record Conversation on it coz it's not a Smartphone so you can't install Spycall on it , 6233 has very Decent loudspeakers , Records video in Vga format & Nice keypad but it don't have Flash for Night shot's , regarding music edition i guess it come with better headphone & bigger capacity memory card.

Its a good phone. And it looks way better than the 6300. The ME is a waste of money, unless you really want white.

Hmm...You can't install Spycall on it to record unlimited conversations maybe u can record on 6233 with builtin recorder like 1 min ?

Its a neat handset,been using its from December,good audio output from the speakers and you can click good pics during the daytime with its 2 megapixel cam and you can download many themes for it from the net.

6233 Is very good Vfm phone.
It is Symbian series 40 3rd edition device so you can not install spycall and records unlimited coversation but you can record conversion of few minutes.

It has 2Mp camera, Music player, good battery life and stereo sound.

Do not go for 6300 if you want very good battery life.

If unlimited recording conversations is your priority than buy E50 because it has Symbian series 60 3rd device so you can install third party applications also.

I dont think that the 6233 is a symbian phone. It has the series 40 interface though

I heard a rumour that it was going out of production ...

s40 is way faster than s60 phones, and if you're not really into installing apps its no big deal (most users aren't). Opera mini looks very snazzy on this phone its 3G ready, and the screen is just mindblowing. I have an N70 but if I didnt have a professional need to install apps I'd have gotten the 6233.

The in-built call recorder can record 1 hour of conversation depending on the free space available on the memory card. I have a 512mb micro SD card.

Confirmed with Az and others and yes you cant download 3rd party softwares onto 6233 but it has an inbuilt feature so thats fine with me as it is i am not into installing softwares. Infact havent downloaded any software on my 6260 for the last 1 year.

Now there is a new entrant - 3110 which again suits my req. and is dam cheap - 6900/ + extra for memory chip, but only put off is that it doesnt have the stereo speakers which i guess only 6233 has in this budget of 10k.
Its a new phone but is otherwise feature packed and priced attractively too.

Can someone who is in mobile business or has someone close and can confirm 3110 performance so far and also i have been to 2 nokia priorities and 1 mobile store in delhi and they did not have 6233 in stock so could it be that its geting discontinued ???

My friend own a mobileshop ,he says It's camera it's not too good , 6233 is the best choice under 10k ,or u should increase your budget & get N72 which is selling for about 10700 but that doesn't even have stereo speakers ,But there's a 5300 which is a funky type phone that's has stereo speakers .

i checked E50 but somehow did not like it and again lack of stereo speakers.

Anyways i bought 6233 yesterday and exchanged my 6260 with it.

So far i am happy with the phone .... sound is exceptionally good compared to any of the nokia phones i have come across and yes it has an inbuilt feature to record unlimited conversation provided there is space.

Any idea how are these Kingston and other memory cards available for cell phones.

Nokia genuine mem card is dam expensive so was thinking to go for Kingston instead and they are giving 5 yrs warranty with it.

i confirmed 512 mb chip for 700/-. is it ok ?
