Hey try the NANO 1GB or onwards, also another decent option will be the 6GB Creative ZEN for within 5-6K.

I have a sandisk MP240 1 GB player. Cost me $60 a yr ago. Must be cheaper now.

One suggestion dont go for the video player unless u really need it. Generally its difficult to get video's in the acceptable format, and its a big pain re-encoding the videos.

You must take a look at a player called YES. It is pretty good and well within your budget.

you can buy a transcend tsonic 610, 1 GB is selling for around 1.8k. Good music quality. Or else you can also consider philips gogear 1 gb for 2.5k, its also good.

Try Transcend brand
Its nice, neat, the output is great and realiable
A 4 gb capa costs Rs.3750 on e-bay, should be cheaper at a local market near you.

while buying it, make sure you have checked battry availability. most of the cheap(er) ones have AAA battery which is easily replacable/chargeable. I prefer those.

i am told that ipods don't even have an option to replace the battery once worn out.
