Got the SD4000 in my hands. Its a sleek little black piece. Look to be made of metal instead of plastic as is the norm for cameras of this price. I was quite amazed with the f2 non flash pictures I was able to take with it last night at home. Build quality seems amazing. AF is decently fast, shutter lag is very very less. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. So far I have shot mostly in aperture priority as I do with my DSLR.

Croma has a few screen protectors - check if any of those will work for you.
Guys,
Can you please suggest me a decent P&S camera under $150 , I will be picking it up from US .
I already have a Canon S5IS and will be picking up Nikon D7000 before I move back to India.
Only expectation from this P&S camera is
Should fit in front pocket of a Jeans trouser
Lithium Ion Battery
Decent Image quality

Go to a good mobile shop. They will have large screen guard sheets from which they can cut out an exact size that fits the FZ100's screen. That is how I got it done for my LX5
Fz 100 has released in India, saw it on panansonic india website.... so i guess accessories will be available for the same in panasoci stores, will visit the one in Kormangla today/tomrrow.
Finally got my SX30 IS :-)
Tried capturing the moon, and this is my first attempt.
No Tripod, no support while taking the pic.
I guess a Tripod would have helped
Wow. If those are the results you get while "still trying to learn," then it really is time I started learning! Lovely pics!
And that moon... hand-held? Astonishing.
I am in market to buy an entry level camera. After a lot of research I have zoomed in on two cameras. 1. Panasonic FZ100 and 2. Canon 1000D with Kit NON-IS lens.
I am going to use the camera for everyday use, for portraits and for capturing landscapes. I am not into video recording or giant zooms. I just want good image quality at affordable price..won't do much high ISO photography either. Which one is recommended - the superzoom or the entry level DSLR?
Finally picked Canon SD1400 IS as backup camera . I am loving it .
any idea as to how to take pics in which a particular color stands out and rest all is black and white?? i have fz100

Hey Shwetanshu, I dont think any camera would have this setting (I'd love to be proved wrong though). I have a FZ100 too and there is no such feature I've found on it, yet. This is achieved with Post-Processing (using Photoshop for E.g.) the Layers of the Pic.
This might help:

Hi Zenster,
you are proved wrong :-)
Most of the Canon Powershots I know have had this setting for ages :-)
It was first introduced in Canon A610 and A620 then A630, S3IS, S5IS, SX10IS and rest of the SX series,
There are two Settings in my SX10 IS:
1.) Color Swap: You can swap one color with another...eg. you can click a black rose by replacing red straight in the camera before clicking a pic
2.) Color Accent: You can choose one color and except that every other color will be Black and White

Rajeev
