SOS Richard Burns Rally (RBR) fails to play on Windows Vista

RBR, though succesfully installed, fails to play (Gets into infinite thinking mode on asking to play) on my newly acquired windows vista laptop. (It meets all the system requirements RAM, VRAM etc apart from the OS).

Any tricks?

Right-click on RBR & select 'Run As Administrator'. See it works.

Ok figured it out!

Vista has this UAC (User Account Control) which has to be disabled to play most sim games.

To Disable UAC, in the Start search window (which doubles up as RUN command window as in other OS's), run the MSCONFIG (Just type MSCONFIG and hit enter)

On the configuration screen go to the tools tab, scroll down to the row "Disable User Account Control". Select the row and hit the "Launch" Button. A command screen will open up and after the command prompt appears, you can safely close the screen. Now close the Configuration screen and restart.

It works.
