How do grado earphones/earbuds compare to the ETYmotic IEM's in sound quality?

I know this probably is OT
i have sennheiser px100, great sound for my treadmill sessions. Problem is the sponge caps on the earpieces are getting grungy and falling apart.
Anyone can source three or four pairs of replacement sponges for me? they are about 1.5 inch diameter.
They used to be aplenty in Goa, all of a sudden all shops report no stock!
PM me please. Thanks.

Depends on the kind of music you listen to, the environment you listen to music in and the kind of phones you are convinient with.

I would love to have a pair of Grado's over anything else. Dont expect them to thump in your ears like Etymotics.

I need to buy new headphones for my iphone the OEM is not working well anymore.
So instead of apple decided to go for another good qulaity product which sounds amazing, any suggestions?
budget : 3K

an ep 630 at ~ 1k is more than adequate, and the most bang for buck :)

Can i also reject and answer calls using it??

whoops. dont think so. they are regular earphones :)

Hmm i am looking for something which with excellent sound quality also has a mic Help?

How about this Nuforce Ne-7M
Anyone heard of it. Getting very positive reviews on it?
Nuforce, Inc

bump bump. this being a headphone thread. here is a question to all

i need to decide between Sennheiser hd 202 and jbl reference 420 headphones.

both are available for same price range. hd 202 is available for $28 and jbl 420 for $30

can somebody give review of both of them and compare them.

my primary requirement is, it will be used with laptop, should have plenty of bass and good sound quality.

if any other headphones are there in this range i won't mind considering them.

your views are appreciated. thank you

Don't know about the Jbl one, but I didn't find the bass of hd 202 to be great. Also, the ear-piece was too small to my liking. I would suggest Sennheiser hd 437 which costs the same as 202 (in bangy), with much better bass.

hd 437 have open cloth-covered earpads so i doubt it will block outside noise as much as hd 202 which has enclosed leatherette covered padding. in that case won't 202 sound more bassy than 437? reviews on net suggest both are equal in terms of sound.

how is hd 415? any view?

lemme know what you think.

also i will have to skip jbl 420 as with shipping it will be $40 which is over my budget by 10 dollars.

IMO 437 is definitely more bassy compared to 202. Plus the 202 won't cover your ears (at lease it doesn't for me) and hence the enclosure doesn't make much sense. Sound quality wise, both might be similar. Try auditioning both before deciding.

Need to buy a good Full Size Headset which completely covers my ears.

Got a PC for gaming and it's abolutely vital for me to have a set of headphones that provide good bass and "effects".

Bought a Philips SPH 2000 (?) IIRC, and the volume is very low even with the PC volume at max level.

Tried Sennheiser but same issue with the volume. The 2.1 channel creative speakers sound very good, so no issue with sound card. No doubt the clarity is good but i could defnitely do with more output.

Please suggest.

i don't have access to either of headphones here. not available in stores here:deadhorse

so i have to rely more on reviews. probably i will go for 437 unless i find something else compelling
