Best free navigation app on iphone is navfree india. Much much better than waze, you can even search by google in it.

Bro, I have both installed but I like waze simply because it's more fun ;)

Cheers!

Even i have both but navfree is more accurate and you can simply search for popular landmarks like schools, markets etc. in the vicinity using the support it offers from google. Oh and btw i have used sygic india also once on my friend's iphone. It is bloody awesome with 3d landmarks and awesome guidance and very effective in telling the optimum routes but is available for a price, i think its 50$.

I am yet to use an iphone, i have an ipad 2 and run navigation mostly on my father's iphone. Will be getting the 4s soon.

I rarely use navigation but if I have to really dig in I use Nokia ;) those are good and efficiently updated. iPad 2 can also work on its own using AGPS technology. I wish to get a nice stand/suction cup atop the dash or windscreen to secure it effectively.

$50 is atrocious pricing for something that is available for free. I am sure there are takers for that as well.

4S is amazing, my friend has it and it is super. But Siri had tough time getting used to the Indian pronunciation and names.

Cheers! Enjoy the product.

There's been an update to fix that. The battery without it doesn't last even 1/2 a day even if not used and left on 3G. Better update the phone and turn on 3G only when needed.

5.0.1 actually comes with a patch that rectifies the battery issue. As the proximity sensor was virtually ON all the time. Thanks to Siri. Don't worry upgrade as per the patch. I believe in some cases due to usage pattern the battery drains faster. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Siri would be enabled but some of the advanced features might not. For example directions. Also note that Siri is influenced by accents and does not support Indian accent English. If you have a way to check out before buying then do so.

Navfree - totally sucks - on both the iphone and the S2.

Waze is good - I use it on the android, lemme download the iphone version and try.

So Sygic (cracked version) cannot be installed unless the iphone is jail broken, correct ?

When did navfree come in the android market? You said you used it on the S2.
