Iphone 5 revealed

- Slimmer, longer
- 4 inch Screen with 1136x640 resolution
- 5 rows of apps
- HSPA+ and LTE support
- A6 Chip
- 8 mp sensor like 4s but thinner
- front camera is now 720p
- Panorama now available. 28 mp images. Will remove artifacts automatically.
- facetime over cellular networks
- 8-10 hrs battery life on LTE.
- 3 mics, front, back and below
- different connector called lightning
- old to new adapter will be available. looks like it will add to the bulk by about a inch or so.
- iOS 6

In USA, yes. It will be $199 with 2 yr contract. Iphone 4s will be $99 and iphone 4 will be free.

Its coming to India in December. It will be priced more or less the same as current 4S prices in India.

The pricing part may apply to US only. In India i am sure launch price will touch 60K INR for 64 GB model. I will be surprised if the price for iPhone 5 will be same as 4S in India.

What's changed? Not much really. Slimmer, new processor, 1GB RAM, got LTE support, longer screen, panorama shots, and a new "lightning" connector. Good luck buying more junk adapters to run your old devices for iPhone5. No NFC support yet.

So much for the hype. People were expecting wireless charging at the very least.

Does Apple release unlocked phones simultaneously or is there normally a delay between contract and non-contract phones?

Usually there is a delay, but now times are changing competition strong. So you never know :)

The unlocked phones will come in November or thereafter.

IIRC, Iphone 4S unlocked was available in November . So i expect more or less the same time frame for iphone 5. If not november than may be late october.

I was expecting fireworks today but really disappointed. I suppose, had Steve Jobs been there, things would've really been much more exciting. The keynote seems mundane and the new phone isnt that great. Not even NFC support. And we thought it was gonna be the S3 killer. So much for wishful thinking. Not one likeable product today. :( And the apple stores in India will come up with ridiculous prices now.

How about the availablity of the New Nano simcards in India.

On the whole , loved the new iphone. On par with the current trends.

Haha nice one. Could you also justify as to why I should upgrade to the iPhone 5 from the 4s? :)

And as for nano sim cards in case of Indian carriers, they will be made available as and when iPhone 5 is released in India.

And there are something things that a iphone user expects when its a major release. That has nothing to do with that being called Hater. Good for you that you can turn a blind eye as to what Apple launch. For some, its difficult to digest.

And this is coming from a iphone 4 user who was so looking forward to upgrading to iphone 5. The new iphone may be evolutionary, but it certainly isn't revolutionary.
