Amazon: iPhone SE 32 GB for Rs 19999/- plus there is an exchange offer for select models. |
Amazon increased the price to 21k. The early-movers were at an advantage, it looks like.

It's 24500 now. 21k is for the 16GB model.

MODS: Please delete. Pancham's next post did not show up on my feed. Using the old mobile app.
Guys, I have a problem and I dont know who else can help apart from you BHPians
A 64Gb iPhone in the family died abruptly. Now the replacement is a 16GB one.
I have a backup from the old phone but due to the size issue, I cannot restore this in the new phone. All I need are the contacts.
Cannot login to my apple account so cant use that. Why is a story for another day. Google sync from what I know wasnt enabled.
Any way to just get the contacts restored without paying for a third party software?
How's the front camera on iPhone SE? 1.2 MP seems a bit too low

You can't even reset your apple account? That would be the easiest option.
Second is to restore from back up, when the initial restore happens and phone restarts, you can disable the unwanted media etc from syncing and that should get you the needed contacts etc.

You will need a third party software to extract the data from the itunes backup. Apps like PhoneRescue exist, though im not sure if there is any free trial.

So from what I have been told, the phone number provided when creating the iCloud account is no longer valid. So resetting the password is not working. Tried to contact apple support, but no positive response.
The second option works only when restoring from an iCloud backup and not iTunes. Not having the password strikes out this option as well.
PS: I am typing this remotely away from home. I am not an apple user so may be missing out on simpler points.

Check if any of your friends have an iPhone which can hold the back up and you can the restore the contacts once the phone is up and then restore back your friends iPhone . Also there might be trial software that can help you to read the back up .

it;s back at 20k.
Looks like a sales tactic. Increase it notionally. Then reduce it. People who bought at the increased price have paid that extra, Those who deferred will buy it now.
Sorry guys for a silly question from a non-iPhone guy. I ended up with a jail broken 4 year old iPhone 4s 16 GB one and searching for ways to dispose it off.
To keep long story short, as per some weird clause in contract in Japan, my sister could not got her iPhone factory unlocked after the contract is over and instead of paying money to municipality e-waste guys, she got it jail broken by a professional and gave to my mom.
In mean time, I was able to upgrade software to IOS 8, but that is the last it can support. Also the battery is getting weaker along all these years. Hence, it is now became a "dabba".
Need suggestions on how to dispose of this one as most of the exchange or buy back guys want only factory unlocked models.

Front camera is only good for twitter/instagram photos on the SE. Pretty basic and grainy pics if you try to zoom a lot on the selfies. The rear camera is the actual champ. Not sure why Apple decided to stick the old 5s camera for the front when they could have very well replaced it with the 6s 5MP one.
Received my SE. Surprisingly, it's assembled in India. 😀
