https://www.cnbc.com/2018/08/30/appl...-time-set.html. New iPhones on the anvil.

My 10 month old iPhone X's display gave away last night. The battery drained earlier in the day and when finally I was able to provide some charging, it simply gave away in mid of call :Frustrati. Not able to answer any of the calls or switch it off.

Any suggestions on how to proceed ahead or arrange a replacement?

Regards

Guess, it's time to move to Android now 🐵

On 7th Sept, my 10 month old iPhone X crashed. There was no display. The Black Screen Of Death.
Visited the local Maple store with original bill.
Phone was under warranty so was told that if it is fixed in the store, it will take 2 working days.
In case of a bigger problem, it will take 5 working days since phone is shipped to Bangalore.
Saturday I was informed that phone sent to Bangalore. Tuesday I received SMS to collect my phone.
Since it was a hardware issue, a new iPhone X was given to me along with a service report.
Currently it has been set up and being used. Hope this helps.

With exchange offer on old iPhone and 10k cashback on Citicards, the price reduces considerably for the fanboys who purchase it in the first week.

Citibank usually offers 10k cashback for the first few weeks so that brings down the price quite a bit.

some points about launch event
- Edge to Edge displays will be new normal across the new range, bye-bye home button
- Photo & video quality is going to be even more amazing; this itself would be enough reason to upgrade. 'WANT' pull is strong here.
- eSIM: Glad to see name of Indian carriers Jio & Airtel on screen for eSIM support. This should mean lesser hassles for consumers.
- Dual SIM: China market will get models with 2 physical SIMs. Wish Indian market would also get same models given widespread dual SIM usage.
- Standard Edition phone: Was hoping against hope for an updated model. But, with no mention whatsoever during the event, it's very likely that Apple has dropped 4" screen phone. On Apple website, this model was visible before/during the event but not after the event. If Apple's strategy of packing more screen size in same/small footprint is anything to go by, then it makes sense. Those who prefer smallest footprint, it's time to buy iPhone SE now.
- We all know Apple is not just about great products, but also about marketing. Enthusiasm & passion that presenters display should be a benchmark, something that is found missing in many Indian auto launch events. Explanation of technology for day-to-day usage benefits is what will indirectly force the consumer to want an iPhone rather than need one. Makes me watch Simon Sinek's WHY video again.
- Pricing: Niche product taken to all new level. Would like to see buying pattern of youngsters now, kind of living the moment Vs living on the edge.

Off-topic: this event made me use edge browser finally.

Any idea if fast charger is included in the box at least for the XS MAX variant, given the extra premium we have to pay for it.

Prices as per Indian website

iphone X r 64GB Rs. 76,900
iphone X r 128GB Rs. 81,900
iphone X r 256GB Rs. 91,900
iphone X s 64GB Rs. 99,900
iphone X s 256GB Rs. 1,14,900
iphone X s 512GB Rs. 1,34,900
iphone X s max 64GB Rs. 1,09,900
iphone X s max 256GB Rs. 1,24,900

It is almost as if USD to INR conversion rate is 1 USD = 100 INR for new iPhones.

https://www.apple.com/in/iphone/compare/

Under compare tab Indian website does shows prices of most of apple products for quite some time now.

A big relief for people like me who carry 2 phones and that too iPhones! It is a huge hassle if you have 2 separate office and personal numbers and if you are glued on to the iPhone then a switch to android is very difficult.

I have a iPhone 7 and 6 right now and would gladly trade both of them for a iPhone Xr. Both my SIM cards are JIO, so I think there is no issue with compatibility.

This is the first time I have heard of this e-sim. What is the draw back of this set up vs a traditional dual SIM card slot set up? And if there are no significant drawbacks then why has Apple used the traditional dual SIM card set up only for China? Govt regulations or network compliance issues or something like that?
