Thanks for the replies.

The thing is I’ve used the iPad charger a few times. However, it stops charging after 80% and the phone gets pretty heated up as well. Is it because I have Optimised Charging ON?

I had this same problem in my XR couple of months back when the Delhi NCR temp. was hovering around 44-45 degrees. This is perfectly normal if your ambient temp. is high. Try charging in an AC room and it should be fine. If not, visit the service center.

If your phone is still under warranty you can get it replaced at apple service centre. I recently got my XR charger replaced.

Nope, it’s out of warranty now.

Guys cross-posting from the iPad thread since this issue has been seen in iPhones as well. My iPad Pro 2017 has been stuck in an endless reboot loop. It goes into loop only when charging. Anyone faced a similar issue in their devices here? Please help.

For last few days, I have noticed a black spot on my iPhone 6S's screen. It is on middle bottom, almost exactly where our thumb is when using the phone.
This is not on the tempered glass screen protector as I removed it and checked as well.
Looks like a physical damage but did it happen on its own or something else caused it?
Any chance my kid may have hard pressed that part? Most importantly, does it spread? I intend to use this phone for may be a year and half more.
Also unlike many posts you may see when you google, this is not a spot which is brighter than other pixels but infact it is darker.

I had a similar spot on my Samsung Note 8, there was no physical damage at all. This got gradually bigger and more irritating over a period of around 3 months. I was asked to change the screen by the service centre for 14 thousand, sold off the phone.

Check with the Apple service centre or any private repair shop and decide accordingly.

Cheers

My iPhone displaying contradictory information...

Boss, your iphone is not displaying contradicting information. What it is displaying is that "battery is now holding 59% of the original capacity, when this phone was purchased". :)So, your phone will still charge upto 100%, but will discharge faster as it is just holding 59% of original charge.

I know that part. I am saying that it shows "Peak Performance Capability" even when max capacity of battery is 59%. I am not talking about the 83% showing on top right at all.

The peak performance capability is defined by Apple as " there is no throttling of your smartphone processor" even after depleted battery capacity - quoting from Apple support forums online. Thanks,

Right. But at 59% of the factory capacity, it should not show this. That is what my argument is.

This whole thing of Battery Health Management by Apple is quite erratic. This thing varies on case to case basis. My 3 year old iPhone 7 is showing a battery health of 74%, yet there are no signs of throttling of any shutdowns. Also, it still continues to show that my iPhone is performing at it's peak capability. Having said that, my iPhone can barely make it through the day with very minimal usage pattern; which includes, WhatsApp, Instagram & occasional phone calls. Gaming is a crime for my iPhone. :D

In another case, my friend's iPhone SE (1st-gen), which is hardly 2 years old, having battery health of 86% is being throttled and experiencing shutdowns!

So net net, I feel this Battery Health thing is more of a gimmick then anything else. Apple just used this trick to cover up their mess of Performance Throttling for which they were bashed worldwide.

I use the same combination of phones - iPhone SE and iPhone 7. Both phones purchased in March of 2017. SE shows a battery health of 91% and iPhone 7 has a health of 84%. The SE has been throttled and doesn't support peak performance but the 7 does.

The reason for the poor performance of the SE battery is the design. Remember that the SE is 6S in the body of a 5S which was not designed for the thermal loads of A9 chip. Heat is the worst enemy of any Li-ion battery. Due to this inefficient thermal management the battery power supply capability of SE degrades much faster than other models. In my opinion, SE is the worst hit by shut downs among all phones.

Apple has started making its flagship iPhone 11 at the Foxconn plant near Chennai. Hoping prices will be reduced by next year.

Apple has started making its flagship iPhone 11 at the Foxconn plant near Chennai, the first time it’s manufactured a top-of-the-line model in the country, marking a boost for the government’s Make in India initiative.

The company hasn’t cut prices as it also sells iPhone 11 handsets made in China in India but industry executives said that could be an option later on. Local production saves Apple 22% import duty.

My unlucky Fridays with Apple devices continue. Last Friday my iPad Pro broke. Details here. https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/gadge...ml#post4846376
Today my iPhone XR slipped out of my hands and the back glass broke. It fell from around 3ft height and the phone had a Carbon Fibre Mous case on. Anyone wants to know what Mous is, do check out their promotional videos on Youtube about how strong their cases are. lol:

Coming back to the issue, anyone here got their XR back glass fixed. I came across this new chain called GadgetZippy.com. They are currently fixing my iPad. Apparently they are iPhone glass repair specialists. They quoted 6.5k for a 'at home' 4 hour service. Anyone here has a similar experience?

Cashify does Home service too, at Bangalore. I had fixed my iPhone 7 screen through them. Costed me 3K and this was 2 years ago. They had done a pretty decent job. I am not sure about the back glass though.

I have question. If I get the back glass changed will my phone's water resisting abilities get compromised? Is that the reason why apply does not change the back glass?
