The iPhone Thread

Just saw on Cydia the ibluetooth application.
It is paid though and i think there is no demo.
So it aint worth paying until we get a demo. It might be that the app just is nothing but the normal bluetooth integrated.
Hoping to see Apple giving bluetooth stack themselves. The 3rd party copy paste ( Clippy) is pretty good and does the job beautifully.
I do not think iBluetooth is paid. I installed it yesterday, but I am yet to get the Bluetooth discovery and pairing done. This app does not seem to be neatly integrated though. I am hoping that 3.0 will have Apple's stack itself.
If you read the more info properly it is paid ( Cydia)
As you mentioned that you are using it , it might possible that it is not working due to it being unpaid uptil now.
Apple , Its high time you guys provide us with bluetooth.
Even phones worth 4-5k now come with bluetooth connectivity and you are selling us a 30k phone without that basic feature.
Tsk Tsk Tsk,!
did anybody tried yellow snow on 2.3 baseband.
it will not unlock 3g with above mentioned baseband
2.3 Baseband.? Not sure.
I have it on the 2.2 version.
And don't worry the update will soon be here on the yellow sn0w repo on cydia.
Abhinav,
I am not taking chances to post any more links and get myself an infraction :D, but yes iBluetooth is paid, but you can get it from "you know where". But there are 4 major problems as of now,
1) Bluetooth symbol is always on though its "Off" in the settings
2) getting a message "Iphone repair needed.. contact apple..."
3) "No service" most of the time
4) phones becomes slow when blutooth is on?

Joshguy and Sir Alec,
3g phones that have been updated to 2.2.1 cannot be unlocked (as of now). So Joshguy, make sure your brother has not updated the firmware to 2.2.1. If he has, it wont be anything more than a costly iPod touch. So wait till the 3g unlock is out for firmware 2.2.1.

I already figured it out!
I even ordered a rebel sim from a friend, but guess what it even needs an update. For which i will need a sim reader/rebel sim programmer. Can any body know where this sim reader/programmer is available. and for how much
SirAlec,
A Sim reader is available for a very cheap price in bangalore (I think 100 bucks). I have seen some ads on ebay India too. Check it out. But, what update does it require?

iPhone3G____
Or from the local grey market at between Rs.25k and 32k for 8GB and 16GB respectively.

Err, why would you want to pay that much and get it all the way from Dubai? You can get a legitimate phone in India for about 29k! or a grey market one for about 22k easily.
