I happened to read (or watch a video) that there is this peculiar bug in the 15.3 affecting some IP's, primarily the 12. It is more prominent in low-light conditions. Maybe you can wait for the 15.4 (if stable) and check if that works.

Guys, I hear there’s an alternative face capture for the Face ID which permits users with face masks to unlock the phone. Is this supposed to come with the 15.4 update?

That's right. 15.4 is already in Beta testing and speculated to arrive by Feb-end or Early March. However, this feature is limited to IP 12 and above.

Dude! That’s a bummer! Why’s it any different for iPhone 11? :disappointed

Well, they say it has got something to do with the Neural engine (or maybe better chipset); not sure. But I think  will bring this to older iPhones too.

After updating to 15.3, I am noticing an irritating bug.

If I call someone from my call logs and after we are done talking, say I lower my phone to disconnect the call but the person on the other end plays faster finger first and disconnects the call before I do. Now in 15.3, the call log screen comes up immediately and I end up dialing someone from my call log. This never happened with me till 15.2 so its definitely the new iOS bug. This happens daily now.

At times, I face the same problem. On iOS 15.2

Anyone interested in IPhone 13, Vijay Sales has a good deal going on right now.

This feature of alternate face does not work with mask on, it is only meant for caps and grown beard. On my 12 pro I tried and you really have to pull down your mask around your chin to register the face.

Only way to unlock the iPhone with the mask on is with Apple Watch in proximity range, for which ofcourse you need an Apple Watch

Wonder why they cannot use the iPhone X/XS chassis for the 2022 SE. The iPhone 6-8 chassis is too obsolete for 2022.

No one will buy their non pro 11 and 12 lineup then, Apple still sells the iPhone 11 new starting at 46k. SE with a full screen design will be too similar.

One can see a similar 3 tier system with the iPad lineup, they have a basic SE equivalent with large bezels, iPad Air and finally iPad Pro.

Off late I am facing a peculiar bug in my IP 12 Pro. The apps don’t remain in memory for long. I mean, the apps if unused for more than an hour or so reload when opened again.
This used to not happen before and the apps were held in memory for even a day IIRC. But now even basic apps like phone, messages, etc. reload after an hour or so.

My phone has 64 / 128 GB of free space & running on iOS 14.8.1.

I need one help here. All apple devices in my home use same apple id. On my iPhone, I have enabled the "Calls on Other Devices" functionality and that means whenever a phone call comes, it will ring on my iPad and Macbook too and I can pickup the call anywhere.

But then the call also comes on wife's iPhone while is disabled.

Also, under the "Phone" icon and then "Recents", I can see the numbers my wife made calls to. I have no idea why that comes. Even my father in law (who lives somewhere else) gets to see who we called in his "Recents".

How do we fix this?

Raks, please try this out ONLY on your wife’s and father-in-law’s iPhones.

Settings > Phone > Calls on Other Devices > Switch off both radio buttons “Allow Calls on Other Devices and Allow Calls On”.

This may solve the problem, do update us.

Cheers

A different take, why do you share 1 ID amongst everyone? Earlier it would be done for sharing itunes purchases, but with family sharing now, it is convenient to have different ID's for different individuals. You may keep the same ID on your different personal devices but other users in family should be on their own Apple ID.

Spent some time importing all photos videos to macbook yesterday night. The iPhone storage still shows 25GB as used even though there are hardly 5-6 photos in my phone.

Trying to see the remedy online but if someone can share a small tip, it’d be much helpful.
