Just curious to know what is the usage mode in this case? Because the PC will not be a mobile unit. Are you saying while traveling in a vehicle, you will open a laptop and connect to a GPS device in order to monitor? In that the GPS standalone should suffice. Sorry to ask I did not understand the reason, one would like to connect a GPS device to a PC. |

There is a ecosystem of parts suppliers and integrators around this niche segment. E.g : iRide Technologies - Home |

i am using map my india on windows mobile (htc diamond) and I have realized that it does not say the names of roads, simply says right or left, etc. Also I have found no way to put name of destination - all I can enter is plot number, road name and city. Given that in most cases one has no clue of this 'number', I am not sure how to enter destinations. eg. I can't put 'raheja residency, 7th main road, koramangala'. I need to put 'no. 10, 7th main road, koramangala' Maybe I am too used to google maps!! just wish google added a lady's voice to its maps software and we can forget about mapmyindia and satnav! |
