Hi,

I am looking for a freeware FLAC (free lossless audio codec) to WAV or MP3 converter.
If you know of any kindly let me know.

I have downloaded and installed 3-4 freewares, but all of them either do not work, or convert only 1 or 2 min of the song.

Hi,
Are these freewares safe for your computer? They may be loaded with spyware, malware etc which can cause severe damage to your data on the computer.

I totally second that. dbpoweramp is an awesome tool for everything audio. Works like a charm. I am not sure of the free version, but I have 11.5 with the required plugins.

For video, I'm not sure one tool would do everything. I use a variety of softwares for conversion from one format to another.

Which brings me to a question I had posted earlier too, but did not get any replies - I have some foreign language videos (DivX), and I have been able to find their subtitles from divx subtitles. Any clue what software can combine the two?

Download DVD Flick v1.3.0.0
Its a freeware no spyware included.

For the select video file
Go to Edit Title
Select > Subtitle Tracks > Add

Here you can add a subtitle file
(.srt,.sub,.txt)
Almost all subtitle formats.

For Lossless audio try Monkey's audio codec.

Hi,
Am looking for a Vob file joiner which is a freeware.

i.e. basically to join multiple DVD format Vob files into a single file.

Don't want one's whose trial versions have limitations like
- joins only the first 30 seconds
- Puts a watermark/logo on the video

I think they are never combined - the sub-titles are overlayed on video while playing. All modern video players, including standalone ones and media players, support this. The sub-titles text file is supposed to be in a standard directory (or same directory) and the player mixes it in. There is always a setting that can switch it on or off.

Help file/manual for subtitle workshop

I hope this is a good thread to post this, couldn't find anything better.
I'm trying to sync subtitles using subtitle workshop. The problem I'm facing is that even though the first and last sub is displayed at the correct time of the conversation, almost every other sub in between is out of sync. So basically it progressively changes the timing and is not consistent. If the first sub was 4 seconds slow and the last sub is also 4 seconds slow, then there are many free ware that can help sync this kind of issue. From what I read, SW is one of the few that can correct subs that are not, hmmm, evenly out of sync.

Anyone done this before? Any help to get a manual on how to use SW would also be appreciated.

Try "Total Video Converter'.
This is the best software I have seen for conversion even for conversion to mobile versions.
It is available for free @ "filehippo.com"
