Hey Manson.
call up your service provider and cancel your sim.
Then go to the place from where you bought it and ask him what to do with the insurance.
They will most probably ask you a few questions and give you your phone back.
You may have to get a police complaint done up first.

Do you have the box with you? If you have then call police and give them your IEMI number (this number is right below the phone model descriptor). Also Call your cell provider and do the same. If you have this number, it'll be easy for the cops to track your phone down.

Tracking is out of question just register a FIR for phone stolen, take a copy of FIR and insurance and bill to dealer and ask for a replacement. Good luck

Lost/stolen phone can be tracked if one has the IEMI number.

There's a difference between technical and practical possibility.

forget abt it manson

also you need to prove to the police that the phone was forcefully taken from you,not stolen, not robbed
read behind the insurance card, u will get it

it wouldnt take an normal person to "unlock" a phone more than 10 mins

there are many third party softwares on the net,all you need is an flasher(a data cable like thingy) to flash the eeprom of the phone and voila u got ur self an phone with an diff imei no

ps rudra sir
:it's imei not iemi, imei stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity, imei no
is an unique 15-digit code used to identify an individual GSM mobile phone to a GSM network

thats how places like jagdeesh market in hyd survive, all chori ka maal

If your fone was insured...get an FIR first...it will be required when u make a claim with the insurance company. Getting an FIR can be troublesome at times...especially when the cops are uncooperative, they ask all sorts of stupid questions. But do get the FIR...without it you cant do anything. And if the simcard was a postpaid then take the copy of the FIR to the service provider and get that card suspended...the mobile company will give you the same number on another simcard.

thanks a lot all you people there , but like many of you said they can't track it or anything like that . it was a biled piece , so i thought that the phone was insured but when i called my dealer up , he told me that the one year free insurance had got stopped in nov.2004 due to police having problems with it as there were numerous ppl who claimed insurance .
it was my bro's fone and the worst part is that it was his b 'day gift , so he 's all upset abt it coz he was totally in luv wid that fne .
have even written to nokia care , and even they can't do anything abt it . :(
if there s anything else that anyonecan think of , plz lemme know .
