Openmoko.. The beginning of a revolution?

Finally the "totally open" phone, Openmoko is going to hit stores
openmoko.com | Products
Sure it lacks a few features, and the web page says GSM 900 when its actually a triband phone, but this could be the beginning of a change.
No more waiting for big manufacturers to release SDK, or waiting for hand me down applications.
After the PC, the next frontier for openness is the cellphone.

I think this product deserves a greater hype than the iPhone, because iPhone is just another phone with a different UI, but this is altogether a new concept!

nice concept, cellphones are indeed going to be the next frontier after PCs.
iphone, i feel is overhyped, its not even launched here, but people seem to be crazy about it.
certainly good concepts deserve more hype.

How much does it cost? And what about availability? Honestly, I am not too savy about the oval desing - maybe would take time to get used to!

Available in India for 20000 bucks. They say the phone is designed to be opened by the end user and it's possible to buy a debug board for it. This might be the phone i was looking for
