On the contrary it clubs the calls "To" OR "From" same number to one, and when you open that call register, it shows the time sequence. I say its kewl! This is what i want.
Win mob used to give me a very long list for the day, same number repeating. I will have 20, 30 calls from one or 2 numbers and that will clutter my list in win mob
You can choose how you want the numbers displayed on Win Mo - either as individual entries or as clubbed entities. However it will still show received, missed and called entries separate for that number.
D9 i have already mentioned, but it lists, when you type the first few letters? Am confused.
egs Jagganathan it lists as soon as i type jag, and i do have multiple Jagganathan in my add book
You can set up D9 to show you 1 or more entries or exact matches or any name containing the same substring.
Your problem is not that it isnt listing - you have disabled listing, try scrolling when you see the jagannathan. You can set it up so that the whole list pops out or so that the best match appears first in the tiny window, you see the others by scrolling.
Like I said, you can customize your Win Mo device in so many ways. Thats what I rate as user-friendliness. Here you have the Apple way and YOU have to customize yourself to it.
Ok a small correction in my previous post, by listing i was referring to iPhone contact listing by typing first few letters, yes it works when you are in contact search, not the Win Mob D9 listing. My bad.
That said i just installed my first set of apps:
Fast contacts to sort out the contact issue
ezimba for some fun pic editing
iMaze, accelerometer game
RDP for Windows RDC
Speedometer works with GPS
GPS tracker
GPS Tracker - Cost 0$
Super Duper stuff, switch ON the apps let it connect to the GPS and drive around, walk, cycle, whatever. The iPhone app will send data to its site, and you can trace the path on google maps from the site or download the file on google earth for a neat walk through :)
Wow I would call it spyware, not super duper stuff since it can be used for spying! One good thing is that if you are kidnapped, or your phone is stolen when on, you or your phone can be traced

Scary. I've got this too, perhaps I should junk it.
I believe TomTom is ready with REAL navigation software for the iPhone - last word was that the software has actually been released to Apple.
That is great, except that TomTom has no maps for most of the world - they are limited to 'developed' economies of Western Europe, US, South Africa, Aus/NZ and Singpore/Hong Kong.

Wow that is exhaustive. Call me old fashioned but I cant udnerstand why someone would want a phone that could blow his/her nose when a phone first has to be a phone. All these touchscreen thingies are maddingly diffcult to use for non-techies like me so do these devices (Diamond, iPhone, etc..) only cater to the "advanced" users?
Q: How do you dial a number with a touchscreen phone in bright sunlight?

The phone is no longer just a phone. It is an ICE (Information, Communication, Entertainment - not In Car Entertainment) terminal.
My phone usage is probably just a small part of the total usage of the device.
And yes I would call you old fashioned :p - just as you would be right to term me old fashioned or uneducated about the OTHER ICE.

Wow! I guess your eyes are good. The screen real estate available on these devices is rather limited.
I do have seperate devices for seperate tasks - digital camera, ipod, phone and if I find I need GPS I'd get me a GPS receiver.
BTW given that your phone use is so heavy how long does the battery last?
I use a Sony G900. The battery lasts me 4-5 days between charging.

You mean ICE terminal usage, phone usage is meagre

ok baba, ICE terminal. I see some kids (20 somethings) in my buidling thumbing away even while they are with me in the elevator and I have realised that "ICE terminal" usage has stamped out social graces.
Now confess, how many of use use IM/SMS to converse with your wives?
Now lets get back to the iPhone!
"iPhone, uPhone, vPhone, mePhone!
It's got Email, UI, IMAP, WiFi!
Touch it, Feel it, See it, Be it!
Dont ask me why!"

Apple critics in action!
Why don't we see a mail highlighting the features of a iPhone?
Sorry to dissapoint the Iphone lovers, but theres another piece of bad news regarding the security features of the Iphone. Apparently its possible to access information in the favourites folder, make calls etc... even when the phone is locked. For more details please see :

Delicate darling she is, drop it and you will regret, didnt even come with a case. My previous Touch on the other hand came with a neat cover, well padded, which saved my phone, when it fell from 1 floor of office! Anyday it feels more tough compared to iPhone. Have bought a temp cloth case from "call mate" for now, till i lay my hands on something similar to Touch cover.
cheers

Are you sure about this? I read in one of the reviews for the previous gen iphone, even when you drop it does not get scratched easily.

To each his own, but I prefer carrying one device to carrying around a bagful of devices and their respective chargers and connectors. What is the point?

I dont know how long my battery lasts. I charge my phones overnight every night - regardless of usage or battery status. It has become a routine over the last 10 years or so, so I dont really care whether the battery lasts x days or y days. There have been days of really heavy usage when my phone (not just the iPhone, but all other devices) has been drained out even before I got home, but I believe the solution to that is buying a simple car-charger, not carrying multiple devices around.
PS: Finney - cool it, man. I'm an Apple user (MacMini, Cinema, Airport Express, Time Capsule, iPod and now iPhone) - that doesnt mean I worship the manufacturer without pointing out their weaknesses. The iPhone is not a proper phone yet. Nor is it a lot of other things - the fact that you like it doesnt mean others should not criticize it.

I believe you. Now will you please drop your iPhone to the ground so that the others are convinced?
Steer, I agree with you!
My post was in response to a post (it was a mail forward) listing out the negatives of iPhone (that post is deleted now!).
What I am saying is why we should focus only on iPhone's weakness, why don't we appreciate the good features of iPhone too!
