I am happy that I was one of the members of that BBS, when there was no internet in India (VSNL service not started) and I had PC and Modem(gift from US Cousin), the sheer excitement of communication and forums on BBS was exciting.
Thanks to atul Chitnis, we had a wonderful medium and taste of future.

Never knew such a thread existed here !! Really nostalgic.. Thanks Rajesh for the reminder. I was fairly active on that BBS and so were my wife and children (Not sure why my wife's name seems missing from that members list - maybe she dropped out towards the end !)

I still have some contact with a handful of those members listed there, but have lost touch with most of the others..

This was put just for that. I wanted those lists to be somewhere where it can be seen.

I am totally dependant on what the the text files and qwks that were retained from that time.

So who all are missing is not known!

Bumping up an old thread to convey a sad news..

Atul Chitnis the father of the CiX bulletin board passed away this morning after a year long fight with intestinal cancer. He was 52.

RIP Mr. Chitnis.

His name was one of the first Indian techie names (along with Sam Pitroda) I came across when I was still in school or college (I dont remember). I remember reading his articles on PCQ. I guess the first Linux CD (the first edition of PCQ?) was by him in 1993 or 94. And how can we forget his BB Ciix (dont remember its original name). Remember reading about his BB (and other BBs) and dreaming of being able to login n download software and games (in the win 3.1 & dos environments).
