Abarth Branded Extreme Desktop

Now here's something for the many FIAT afficianados on TBHP.

For those who get their kicks from both 'internal combustion' as well as 'integrated circuits', this Abarth-branded gaming desktop should be right up their alley. This eye-catching computer born from a collaboration between Fiat's in-house tuning branch, Abarth, and the world-leader in computer chips, Intel, is the first in what is likely to be a line of high-performance electronic devices the two companies will jointly produce.

Called the "Abarth Powerplay Extreme", this desktop computer packs a large amount of computing horsepower. Exact specs haven't been released, but it is confirmed that the heart of this beast will be Intel's latest Core i7 extreme quad-core processor, which is said to be the fastest CPU ever produced by the Silicon Valley based company.

Italy 's Brain Technology Spa came up with the radical design for this machine and it is certainly something that demands attention. The exposed motherboard is smothered by a large number of heatsinks and LED-colored fans for cooling and the word "Abarth" printed over the giant top grille along with the Abarth scorpion logo on its side add to the coolness. Below the motherboard, we find a Blu-Ray/HD-DVD reader paired with a CD/DVD burner. The minimalistic fascia bears the usual USB, e-SATA and FireWire ports, but the thing that caught our fancy the most was a big red "Start Engine" button designed to power up the computer.

This high-end machine aimed at gamers will be unveiled in Europe at the "Intel Friday Night Game", a videogame championship affiliated with the Electronic Sports League in which gamers across 30 European countries participate. If this is anything to go by though, we'll certainly look forward to seeing more goodies emerge from this hottest of unions between the automobile and computer world.

Price and Specs have not been released yet.

Looks kinda cool, but it looks more civil-engineered than automotive

(and i agree, the optical drives are the weakest point.

My pleasure Abhinav.

Seems to me the specs are to die for but I feel that the shape is a bit weird..But then as Jezza said, the Abarth has always been about completely weird designing, except the current one!

So then this is a true Abarth design!

I have seen those available in the states but none here. You know where to find them in Bombay / Pune? Should be useful to keep narrow crevices in the car clean.

Not sure exactly where you can get them here moral.

I've been wanting to make a can like this with a schrader valve on the other end so that i can take it to the petrol pump and re-fill it up for free. I hate to have to pay for a can of air!!
