I upgraded Nokia Here Drive (on my 720) last week. I haven't tried the new app on the road yet, but what I noticed is that I lost the global navigation capability. For global navigation, I need to buy the license for Rs. 970. I thought it was same for all Lumias, and here came a surprise. Saw my friend's 820 got upgraded to Drive+ and was wondering why I did not get the Drive+. After a bit of googling found that Drive+ is not enabled for 520 and 720, but enabled for 620. One reason for 620 owners to rejoice! Consolation for a missing FM Radio? :P Here is more info:

Note:
I realized that this is a bit old news. I thought the App upgrade in my phone has crippled the global navigation feature. Drive+ is infact a feature of 620, compared to 520 and 720.

So the Vibrator of my 3 Months old Lumia 520 has given up:Frustrati
I used to boast,as to how it is more robust and reliable than my iphone, and here it goes.It fell about 30 days back and was working fine since then, but today the vibrator just gave up silently,i have tried everything apart from resetting it to factory defaults.

Anything more that i can try before handing it over to service center?

Best option is that you can try doing a hard reset, but I have my doubts that will help as you have mentioned that the phone fell. So there seems to be some sort of physical malfunction. If this doesn't work then service center it is.

This reminds me. There is an app called Insider that lets you test the hardware on the phone. It has a vibrator test function also. You can try that.

Yeah,it fell, but that was more than a month back, and vibrator motor gave up yesterday, let me try the insider thing before hard reset, and the reset removes all apps as well, correct?,i am surprised there is no soft reset like we have for iphones and all.

Yeah the missing soft reset thing is pretty silly. But you can do a soft reset by holding down the Vol Down + Camera button for 10 seconds.

Lumia 625 is announced yesterday - comes with 4.7" screen. That's biggest screen Nokia ever produced. Would be a good deal to buy if its priced under 15000.

Hello everyone,
Had a question regarding the internet explorer on nokia lumia. Does the browser allow users to download and upload documents from web pages like on a PC? I mean, for example if used for online registration for something, can it be used for uploading your documents? This question arises because the IE on PCs is considered the best for filling up forms online. This has to be my main requirement as I cannot carry my laptop everywhere.

No you cannot upload documents from the phone as you cannot browse the file system.

Is the case same for UC browser and Nokia Xpress browser also? If that is the case I'm afraid I have to move back to androids.

Yes this is a case with all browsers. You can share certain types of files over email and Bluetooth. But you cannot upload any files to a website through a browser.

In that case, it's android for me. The Lumia is a beautiful series, top notch hardware, but too many Windows phone restrictions have spoiled the sport.

Can you do it in Android?

File manager in android is very much accessible. So no issues AFAIK. Correct me if I am wrong.
