how to add tags to video files

Like Mp3 , can we add tages to the video files and use the same with WDTV?

Basically , is there any program through which

1) You will select the AVI, MKV , whatever..

2) Select import from IMDB

3) program will import everything including the coverart and put it in the video file

4) Save the changes..

I am using Mp3tag for all of the MP3's for above functionality. I am wondering if such program exists for the video files also?

It's called metadata, not tags. Never really bothered with it, so can't help you. If its possible to embed metadata in avi containers, it will be possible using FFMpeg. But you'll have to re-encode the videos, so not recommended at all.

Does WDTV support Javascript and html ?

If it does then you can download YAMJ (Yet another movie jukebox) from google code.
MovieJukebox - moviejukebox - Main Support Page for MovieJukebox - Google Code

I have a Popcorn hour and it works flawlessly.
You map your Network Media player to your pc, Run YAMJ.
The program will scan all the directories in your setup path. Gather all the movie files and download metadata from IMDB.

It creates a set of html files , you transfer this dump to your Network Media player and you are done. You have a beautiful menu structure for your movies, along with posters, rating, synopsis etc...
