Just checked univercell.in

N95 - 22,699
Nokia 6110 - 14,699

A hefty difference of 8,000 Rs. between two model, is it justified ??

I think one can pick HTC P3300, or P1i (with GPS) in this price tag...

then its up to you whether you want all all rounder like the n95 or a business phone like the p1i. i dont think the gps on the p1i would be better than the n95. the 6110 or the p1i dont have a 5mp camera which is your 2nd requirement after the gps.

my suggestion - buy the n95. after the firmware upgrade it has improved drastically. you wont regret it.

I am also thinking about getting a N95,the dealer price for Delhi is Rs.21500 so
you can easily get it for about 21700 from a known source.Make sure you buy
one with the latest firmware, look for month of mfg.and import -december or later.

Another useful plug in, bumped into it while searching for a cell info display thingie. Works well in HTC Touch

DKToday uses 3 lines to display on your Pocket PC Phone Edition's Today page, the carrier, signal quality, missing calls (you can ring back by tapping on the telephone icon), usage for the day and month and sent SMSs.
You can set the usage levels (1 second, N seconds or 1 minute), the day of the month when the bill starts and free numbers (so that they aren't counted).

Manish.. confirmed this price just now also.. not sure about the 8 gb version..

Univercell.in

though try asking your nearest nokia showroom, you might get a lower price.... as univercell.in is gernally on higer side.

Ashish they are giving the 1GB for 22000/- and 8GB is for 25500/- just checked with them. But the phone looks VFM dude ...what do you think ???

I decided to remain with RIM and bought myself a LG RD3000 for 1350/-
Cost includes the SIM and the HCC.

Will buy a dedicated e-book reader later this month.

Manish... If you are looking a phone along with GPS with very decent camera, then certainly N95 is for you which is certainly a better option then n82 according to me, in case you are an music buff.. you can have the 8GB one.

however, my requirement is a little bit different i am looking for gps primarily, along with camera and music though i am also seeking n95 but @ 22000 still its on a higher side for me, may be ill wait for another month or 2 and wait for rate fall :)

N82 owners, some good news:

Apparently the data and settings will remain intact in an N82 even after a firmware update. (But still backup, please). Not that any FW upgrades have been announced as yet, but this is good news, IMHO.

Found a better one for HTC Touch, has some more useful stuff and a OMAP CPU tweaking tool (Not recommended though).

Chi-Tai Dang - BatteryStatus - Today-Plugin - Manual

This is certainly some good news, also N73 firmware upgrade brings in demand paging and also speeds it up quite a bit. I'll be upgrading my n73 this weekend will report back after that. Any GPS based recommended applications ? And has anyone tried out nokmote or similar apps ?

Have seen many articles on the net saying the CPU of PDAs like my HTC Touch , can be overlocked for better speeds and efficiency.

Any feedback and recommendations on this ? As of now , my touch is working absolutely fine. Will there be any reliability issues , if overlocked ?

Thanks
