Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but Vodafone has new GPRS plans :
eg. Rs 299 for 2GB (vs the old 499 for 500mb)
They will NOT automatically upgrade you to this/these plans, so you need to call and make the change.

I Had bargained for GPRS plan with Retention Department under MNP and got 1 GB for Rs 99 for lifetime. The speed i got was around 89 kpbs (Checked mobilespeed) which is very good for my needs as i only surf websites, no downloading for me
On prepaid (Vodafone, Mumbai), 99 Rs recharge gives 2 GB + 30 days validity for GPRS.

Hey folks,
I have a Motorola Razr2 V8. Of late, I have been facing issues like, one particular folder getting deleted, phone hanging once in a while etc.
I have tried factory restore, delete data etc. but doesn't work.
I got the phone formatted at Redington (Motorola's Authorized Service Centre) but the problems are resurfacing.
Any idea how I can format the phone and re-install the OS? Any other solutions? |
Should be possible to re-install using Moto Software updater. At least it was possible with L7. Get it from their site.

Hi
Can anyone recommend some good website for ordering
Mobile online.
I tried flipkart but the phone is out of stock.
Has anyone tried univercell.in ?? |
eBay, Tradus.in, Infibeam.com. Roughly in that order. No personal experience buying mobiles from them though... but have bought other stuff. Univercell does not seem to have good reviews.

89 kbps is pretty slow if you ask me. With all the heavy pages that we have now, it can get quite irritating to keep waiting and waiting. Maybe the sites you visit are "light" or mobile versions.
can somebody please suggest a good nokia mobile in 4k-5k range. Its gonna be used by my father, don't need to have anything fancy. just the usual stuff.
please suggest. need to buy today or tomorrow. thank you
p.s: while searching on flipkart, i came across three phones in this range. its nokia 5130, nokia x2 and nokia 2730. Any reviews on any of this. Any of this a good buy for Rs. 4k?

At 4k that phone is a steal. Only issue is the keys, your dad may not be comfortable with them.

Why not the Nokia 6030? I used one before I got a N8. Much cheaper too. No frills phone. The keys fall easily to your thump.

Honestly, i will be trusting yours and other member's review since i am not in there to see the phone. I will be just telling my sister to get the phone from nearest store.
Need to have a camera, fm radio and music playing capacity. i guess 6030 doesn't have camera so its a no-no.
any other suggestion?
Not sure if this has been discussed earlier. I've got 2 messages from Vodafone saying : "Enjoy free talktime for Rs 50 month [sic] for 2 months Submit passport size photo ID&add proof reqd by govt of india @any Vodafone outlet before 4th Mar".
Quite an effective way of getting people submit documents!

Oops sorry wasn't aware of the requirements.
During the Cricket matches they are advertising this phone. Nokia X2-01
Fits your bill. Check it here:
Nokia India - Nokia X2-01 messaging phone
OR
Nokia C2-01
Nokia India - Nokia C2-01 3G mobile phone - Products
Benefits over the X2-01: Has a 3 MP camera over the VGA one and has a normal keypad.
Both have radio.
Both retailing for Rs 3800 in Bangalore. Called Univercell and confirmed.

Thank you very much. I will go for Nokia C2-01 if its available in Vadodara, else will make do with X2-01. Even i saw these two on flipkart and was wondering how different x2 is from x2-01. Regarding camera, his current phone already has a current, doesn't make sense to go one notch down.
Nevertheless, thanks for confirming the price. Appreciate it. Will order soon.
Case closed.clap: lol.
Mini USB Stereo Audio Adapter for HTC Touch Tilt Fuze - eBay (item 390055476041 end time Mar-18-11 10:34:16 PDT)
Here is a question for audio pin gurus. I bought this adapter for my HTC touch pro. It goes into the phone and gives me two mini USB ports, one 3.5 MM and one 2.5 mm port. I plan to use one USB for charging, another for my original HTC headphones if i decide to. Otherwise I will use 3.5 mm for my after market headset (has separate 3.5 mm pins for microphone and speakers).
Question is, can I use a 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm adapter to use the microphone pin from my headset? this is what the description says
- 3.5mm audio connector (with in-line mic support)
- 2.5mm audio connector (with in-line mic support)
