I would also suggest she have a look at the Sam Note. It's 8-10k lesser than the SGS3 but bigger. If she is okay with the Note's size she'll love it.

Before SGS3 was launched, SGS2 was topping the charts as best phone in the world.
I have read a comparison on both in Gsmarena, where it says to go for the SGS3. Will need to look at the phones to decide. Hmm.

Have already seen the Note, its too big to handle.

So the only options for me now is either SG2 or SG3 or the note. Any light on the sony experias?

If you want quality and stability .then go for SGS3 or SGS2, don't confuse yourself. Other phones don't have this kinda reliability and performance

re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Hi Team,

Need help on two things.

My Smsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 with Android 2.3.5 keeps restarting after every call. This started after 4 months and now it's become an headache.

Has anyone faced similar issue and if so, how have you overcome it?

I saw a video about Yosion Apple Peel 520 which can convert Ipod touch into a phone. Will it work in India?
Has anybody using it here in our forums successfully?

thanks in advance,
bheemboy

That clears all and makes sense. Probably will have my wife look at them and decide. Thanks.

Will have a look at it too. IMHO, for music, Sony is the best. For quite lately they have introduced gazillion models but none persisted. Thats why the hesitation.

Well I did a recent compare between the 2,

Xperia-S +ve's Over S2
- Feels smaller when holding in the palm, though the screen area is marginally larger than S2
- Better camera, and super fast clicking almost instant.
- Bigger internal mem 32gb vs 16gb on S2
- Faster processor, although u cannot compare it like apples to apples because they are different makes
Sony : 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Scorpion, Dual Core
Samsung : 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A9, Dual Core

Xperia-S -ve's
- Read lots of stories of poor battery life , like lasts 8-9 hours
- The Bravia engine etc seem to be power hoggers so u have to shut all of them down perennially if you want the phone to last longer between charges.
- No expandable memory
- Battery cannot be replaced (Although there are hack methods).

Also do checkout the Intel Xolo X900, its 22k has a fast processor (They claim it to be the fastest).
If clicking photos is not a priority then this too is a good value for money phone.

XOLO is fast in day to day activities. Opening contacts or messages or app. It out runs my friends S2 running on stock ICS. Compared with 2 S2 a so far.
Fast its the word. No lag what so ever. Camera is above average. The colors are slightly on the warmer side.
Runs on 2.3.7 Gingerbread.

Gets hot occasionally.

Sent from XOLO using team bhp app for Android.

For me the biggest plus is the 720p HD screen. S2 is on the relatively ancient 480p screen (that was ok in 2011 but not now for this price). For 30k one should always be looking for HD screen whatever the make. Of course the better 12MP camera totally tilts it in Sony's favor compared to S2.

Battery and all are just lot of stories around. Most people, whatever the smartphone, need to charge their phone every night. Is that a big deal really? Xperia S anyway has a bigger battery than S2.

I wouldnt buy the Xolo. Its still a chinese phone and for 20k+ price not justified at all - whatever the speed. Its not like other dual cores are super slow or anything.

By the way its also good to keep an eye on homestop18 offers. Recently one member picked up the OneX for 29k. Thats the best deal one can have for a sub 30k phone.

Guys a colleague of mine is selling off his Galaxy S2. Just one month old. What should be a fair price ? It's in perfect condition and hardly used as he uses BB as his primary handset. Anyone interested to buy please let me know. Location is Noida.

Why don't you guys look at the Optimus 4X HD? Its the best reasonably priced quad core phone with ICS available in the market today.

How is Nokia Lumia 800?

I am also considering HTC OneV & Xperia Sola so is Lumia 800 worth extra money I am paying (around 4-5K extra).

Which of the three phone offers best VFM preposition?

EDIT - What's the difference between Lumia 710 and Lumia 800? Price difference is huge (7K) specs looking similar?

Dont even think about a Nokia phone, i have burnt my fingers with N8, as long as phone works fine, you are OK.

The moment you have an issue, your peace of mind will go for a toss. you will be cursing the Nokia service and terrible customer service. They just dont care.

Nokia is slowly but surely heading for doom and i predict the company will either sell of their business to Microsoft or shut shop.

If you really want a Windows phone, look at Samsung or others

Ok after ruling out Nokia, how is Samsung Wave3 and Samsung Omnia M? Price and specs looking good.

OS is not a issue for me i.e. I am not particular to one kind of OS.
